Looking back and moving foward
A new chapter begins.
Greetings, and welcome to my gallery. Please, call me Cat.
This is a recently created gallery, but I am not new to the set up. I first created a FA gallery in 2015. And I first created a Deviantart gallery in 2007. I have since created other galleries, usually centered about a theme I wanted to keep apart from my other galleries. But I never, truly, had a core gallery, one that would home a variety of my craft. A place I could not only post my digital work but also any works I wish to showcase, works such as my traditional artwork or my handmade crafts or even my cosplay work. While I did post, rarely, some of my craft not of digital work to another gallery it never felt like the appropriate home for said pieces.
I now, finally, have created that place.
TheCuriousKaiju.
A name you can see, and will see often see if you follow my journey. It will be the name I take for a many of my platforms. This will now, and hopefully forever more, be the home for all my crafts. Not just digital artwork. I wish to showcase traditional work and digital work here. I wish to showcase my cosplay work and cosplay projects here. I wish to showcase painting, sculptures, and other crafts. And even, maybe, bits of my stories I've created.
Starting at the beginning
Here's how I want to approach this new gallery starting out: Looking back.
I wish to look back, back to all the art I've created so many years ago, and see those stepping stones that brought me to this point. I have been drawing since I was a child. I'm 27 now, I have many art pieces never before showcased. With this fresh account, a new beginning, I'd like to show everyone the first steps I took onto my art path. We all have a starting point. But not everyone shows it. I myself was always shy at the thought of showing old art.
What does this mean? Well, this means I will be posting very old art first thing. As far back as I possible can go. But, I do not plan to post every single art piece at a time. That would take ages! I will, most likely, create a collection, and each collection will be a year, for example I might make a "2008 art collection" that will showcase my 2008 artwork. And when I hit the current year I will stop. This way I will not have to post every single piece at a time. That is my current plan, it may or may not change a little over time.
Looking ahead
After I finish looking back I will start focusing on now, and ahead.
There's many, many, projects and ideas I've had since I was young. But I rarely would find the inspiration, and courage, to let my ideas grow. A fear always over took me. And many projects I had died. I wish to overcome those fears. To bring back old projects, bring new live into them, would be a great challenge for me. And that's what I would like to do moving forward--challenge myself.
To step out of my safety zone, one I created so long ago, is a great step moving forward as an artist I think. I want to write books, and create many things, I must push myself and encourage experimentation and risk. After all, how will I know how something will turn out if I don't try it?
Thank you
I thank you reader for taking a moment of your time to read this journal.
And, of course, I thank all my supporters who have followed my journey up to this point, and maybe will continue to follow my works. I can only hope I will bring new artwork, new craft work, that will be worth a look. And even if it's not I still will take pride in my accomplishment, knowing I continued to move ahead one tiny step at a time.
