"John Oliver wants your yiff"... & Nazi furs
5 years ago
More furry mainstream infiltration: Evidently John Oliver is willing to pay $1,000 for a 1992 piece of furry yiffy art by I think "Brian Swardes" (hard to make out the audio for sure) and give $20,000 to the owner's favorite food bank.
Can't wait to watch Oliver's piece when it shows up on YouTube; when it does I'll update this Journal with the link, but in the meantime here's Odin Wolf's video on the subject: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OoHPSPLcOMM - if you happen to own this piece...cash in and help your local food bank in the process! (OdinWolf's FA page is exactly that: "OdinWolf")
Finally got around to listening to the Worst Year Ever podcast from January on how furs kicked Nazi furs out of the fandom - excellent piece of journalism, well worth your time:

Newsweek did a good job covering it.

Maybe it's my wishful thinking, but it feels like a story like this can turn up and be taken for its own sake and no longer representative of the fandom as a whole.
I'll watch the video later; curious to see if Oliver mentions the F(urry) word.
