Time's passing quicker than I thought...

Welp, I guess I have once again successfully aged today. Darn it I'm getting old... where's my cane...
Anyhow, due to the ongoing virus and some other... factors, my last weeks have been rather stressful to be honest with you. I found myself overthinking alot, growing further and further unsure about myself, my art, my job, people close to me and so on. I try to not let these things get the best of me and am so far still doing quite okay and alright. I try to follow the motto, as we'd say over here: Augen zu und durch. Keep it together.
I'm aware that I'm by far not the only one that is currently experiencing difficult times throughout this pandemic and that I'm still one of the lucky people, taking into account that I'm not part of the group of people that are at risk. So everyone, for the sake of those and yourselves, please stay safe, stay inside and wash your hands, I'm positive that we can get through this together.
To try to make today at least a little better, a little bit different from all these other days most of us had to spend in quarantine, I've decided that I'll sketch a few fanart surprises. I can't promise that I'll be able to draw for everyone, but I'll try my best, seeing how many are upset that due to their cut wage or missing jobs they can't commission anything right now. So if you're alright with recieving fanart or know someone close/important to you, that is currently having a very hard time, just let me know or drop me a link to your character(s).

Honestly? I just had another look at your gallery and can't choose a favourite, all your characters look darn amazing 💙 If I HAD to choose though, I'd probably pick your red boy because I'm in love with how well that dark shade of red and white looks on him~ X3

Many have been impacted in so many different ways as a result of covid. I’ve been hit (not with the bug, thankfully, but by repercussions of the evolving situation)... but I have a roof over my head, food, and family. I’m safe and healthy, which is the important thing... as I hope you are, and continue to be.
I am a great admirer of your work, and will leave a link to my Scraps which has reference material. I would love to see Nimbus done by you, but there are probably much more deserving folks. I can still commission to some extent... others can’t and this is a wonderful thing you’re doing for them!

I'm very relieved to hear that you're safe and healthy, it really is the most important thing right now, considering the circumstances... I am still rather lucky myself, just like you I have a roof over my head, food and all the people close to me are alright. I have to admit that I'm not sure wether I'll still have a job after this pandemic is over or not, but know nothing for sure yet.

I'll say this about your art... and I'm not sucking up to try and snag a free sketch. There is really something special, to me, about traditional art methods. I had some commissioned work done 10 years ago in this way, and there is a certain feel to it that is lost going digital. Don't get me wrong, I've seen some fantastic digital work... but traditional holds a special place in my heart, as do those pieces from long ago. It's almost as though something gets lost in translation from hand to paper... to hand to computer. I know you're working on the digital aspect - but don't lose the traditional; it's special, and you're amazing at it.
I really hope that things will turn out alright for you aswell in the end, and that there won't be a "tightening of belts"... this whole crisis definitly brought out the good in lost of people, maybe the aftermath will even have some positive effects humanity-wise, even if it's gonna screw over our economy immensly X')
Please don't worry, it doesn't look nor sound like that at all! To be honest with you, I feel the same about traditional art, I'm nothing but amazed at what some people can create with digital methods but there's just something - I think you already found the right words for it - special about traditional art that sometimes gets lost in the digital translation. That's one of the many reasons (besides me not being able to handle most shortcuts/ways/methods that are available digitally X'D) why I think I'll stick to traditional methods as my main medium for quite a while and possibly forever ;3;

Glad to see traditional art continue and flourish. To me, its almost akin to reading a physical book compared to an e-book. All the same words, but there's something about holding it in your hands and turning pages. Same with traditional art; knowing its pencil, pen or brush strokes directly from the artist's hand... no erase / correct or fill tools... it just has more meaning. Stick to your guns and don't doubt your choice of medium... perhaps there are fewer that appreciate traditional methods, but there's a beauty in it that will never be captured by a computer.
The comparison with a real book and an e-book actually works rather well I believe! I also feel like with every drawing that is made traditionally there's a certian commitment to it that the artist has to make. No turning back once a line is drawn, no corrections in the general proportions after the drawing is finished, no adding another layer ontop to create the right shades from the second lightsource, no saving inbetween or creating a file one could go back to and start all over.
