Extend the humbler both left and right.
Add holes for a rope or such to pass through.
Rope (reins?) are tied (through-holes and knots?) to a flat board, behind humbler and balls.
She holds the 'reins', of course.

Of course, how he pleases her is her choice. And he'd better do it right. Right?
