well I meant it to sound like it's more of a state of being rather than a complete fetish like she was making it out to be. and yeah if it's an everyday thing....it is unhealthy so i agree. but it's also not just purely fetish. I guess it is a mix and/or depends on the furry individual.

Yeah, it's not completely a fetish, but it's more of a general interest like anime or video games (both of which have fetish sections to them) instead of a lifestyle. =)

And... I'm not sure what everyone is so up in arms about, actually. The whole sex part... is because the whole show is about sex. Chewfox and her mate seem to be showing it as a lifestyle, the way it should be... the whole sex thing is the show's fault, imo, and between them, not the whole fandom... though, I do realize it could be seen by 'normals' (?) as being a strange fetish.

They didn't say that EVERY furry has sex in costumes. but they should have clarified it more. But i think they did an ok job trying to explain what a furry is (the alter-ego) in like...2 or 3 minutes. They really should have had more time to explain. But this isn't a documentary show, its a talk show and the episode is on sex.



Wow... I can understand some furries feeling like they weren't represented properly.

This whole mess actually made it to encyclopedia dramatica, and to be honest I think it's pretty funny.

She did do a poor job of representing the fandom, and should have at least tried to specify that the sex-in-suit thing isn't common. However, it's easy enough to forgive her for that action. What's sad, though, is that she seems proud of herself for the way she was on stage.... and feels she did a good job representing the community.

I sum it up like this: Every village has it's idiots. They mean well, and they try, they just fail. No sense in getting pissed off about it. Just shrug, smile, say 'well, that's our village idiot for ya.' and move along.

I don't think she was a complete idiot. They did try to explain that its more of an alter-ego thing, that they don't have sex with animals (They still failed at explaining furries tho). Alas, they should have been on some other kind of show rather then a sex episode on Tyra banks. Lol

I think the whole thing is blown out of proportion, of course I'm just a non-furry speaking so actual furries may feel different.
