- Vincent Raven becomes a werewolf (Monster Dog). If you've ever wanted to see Alice Cooper turn into a werewolf, this is your movie.
- The panther-woman transformation in 'Waxwork II'.
- The whole scene that leads to Evil Ash in 'Army Of Darkness'.
- Deadite transformations in 'Evil Dead II'.
- Nina's 'swan' transformation in Black Swan.
- The weretiger transformation in Junoon.
- The werewolf transformation in 'Bad Moon'.
- The mouse tf scenes in 'The Witches'.
- The transformation phases in 'Sleepwalkers'.
- Debbie turns into a cockroach from 'Nightmare On Elm Street 4: The Dream Master'. This transformation and death are quite cleverly done actually, you have a tough as nails character like Debbie, who is working out when she breaks her arms and they break open to allow insectoid arms to form, and she finds herself trapped in a roach motel, she collapses on the floor and her face peels off as this insect head forms in its place, and of course we hear Freddy's quip 'They can check in, but they can't check out'.
- Jessie's transformation into Freddy in 'Nightmare On Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge'. There are quite a few transformations in the Elm Street franchise including in comic form with the Freddy VS Jason VS Ash comic where Ash has a nightmare about his bad hand sprouting claws like Freddy's. Heck, Greta's scene from the fifth movie was originally going to have her turning into a pig (or rather the girl that would eventually become her in the movie).
- Dan becoming a motorcycle in Nightmare On Elm Street 5: Dream Child.
- Angela and her friends being possessed and going all demonic in the Night Of The Demons trilogy. In particular the cat-girl from the third movie.
- The Hessian grows his head back (Sleepy Hollow). There's just something awesome about how the skull transforms back into the Hessian's head and also something about it that reminds me a lot of the Evil Dead movies.
- Maestro pulling his face off (Michael Jackson's Ghosts). Also another transformation from Ghosts I like is Maestro possessing the Mayor and turning him into a Ghoul version of himself.
- Barbara and Adam's transformations (Beetlejuice). They're just extremely creative in the way they are done, plus I like that Barbara's transformed state has her with eyes on her tongue.
- The mutation scenes in 'Freaked'.
- David's werewolf transformation (An American Werewolf In London). THE most famous werewolf transformation of all time and for a good reason, you really do feel bad for David who is a very likable now cursed to turn into a rampaging werewolf at full moon and his transformation is extremely painful. This scene and American Werewolf in general have been referenced and spoofed a few times including the Futurama episode 'The Honking' with Bender's werecar transformation, Wallace and Gromit: Curse Of The Wererabbit with Wallace's transformation (we see Wallace's hands stretch like David's) and including Alas Smith and Jones with the American Armchair skit and Curse Of The Queerwolf (yes, it's a real movie). Plus the howl at the end is iconic and this is the movie that introduced the Best Makeup category at the Oscars.
- All of the transformations in Company Of Wolves. I like how all of these are executed, the skin-peeling thing is a pretty gruesome way of doing it and it works well. It's easy to see where Hemlock Grove and Van Helsing got their tf inspiration from.
- Eddie Quist transforming into werewolf form in 'The Howling'. It's very well executed and very creepy, especially since it looks like he really enjoys the process. And knowing that Quist is a killer, really adds to that. Another transformation from the Howling I like is the one towards the end, and Marsha's transformations as well.
- The 'Were-thylacine' transformation in Howling III: The Marsupials. I actually am a big fan of the Howling sequels, true they're not as good as the first but they've got their flare to them and sometimes can be really out there. Like for example the were-thylacines in the third movie, I like the tf that is shown in the movie theater where we see someone transforming into a were-thylacine at a doctor's office, it's funny especially when the Jerboa (the female marsupial werethlyacine) says that's not the way her kind transform.
- Scott Howard wolfs out (Teen Wolf). I have a soft spot for these kind of werewolf designs to be honest and if I could, I would reach out and hug Scott.
- Seth Brundle's transformation into Brundlefly (The Fly 1986). I feel awful for him because while he does get superhuman strength and can stick to walls at the beginning stages of his transformation, it's when he starts losing his hair, teeth and he starts getting all deformed that's when I felt worried about him and it was heartbreaking towards the end when Veronica (Geena Davis) rips his jaw off and he becomes a fully transformed fly-monster before being fused with the telepod and dying. What really adds to this is that the transformation in general has been used as a metaphor of the aging process, drug addiction, and even diseases like Aids just to name a few. And I can't bring up Cronenberg without bringing up Rick and Morty and the infamous episode where Rick practically 'Cronenbergs' everything up, and the mutants themselves get their name from director David Cronenberg.
- 'You're all pigs' (Willow).
- Thulsa Doom becomes a snake (Conan The Barbarian)
- Katrina vamps out (Vamp)
- The anthro snake tf scenes in Hissss and Sssss.
- Amy's vampire transformation (Fright Night 1985)
- Jerry's vampire transformations (Fright Night 1985). Interesting fact about the bat, the bat is actually made from a re-purposed puppet of the Librarian Ghost in Ghostbusters, both movies had the same special effects company. This was supposed to be the original design for the Librarian Ghost but it got rejected because they thought it might scare kids so it was re-used and re-designed to be Jerry's vampire bat form.
- Evil Ed's transformation back into human form from being a wolf (Fright Night 1985). I have to admit this is another one that is quite heartbreaking, you can tell by the look on Peter Vincent's face and you can also hear Evil Ed crying as he transforms back to normal, poor Evil Ed.
- The mirror scene (Casper). As I have mentioned this one is more lighthearted than the others because it is done for laughs and it is in a family movie but still, one thing you should know about this movie is that it's a parody of the infamous scene from Poultergeist where one of the male characters hallucinates that his face is peeling off, in this playful spoof of it - Dr James Harvey (Bill Pullman) is possessed by the ghostly trio and he transforms into quite a few recognizable faces, mainly Clint Eastwood, Rodney Dangerfield (oddly enough, the first time I discovered Rodney was in this movie, that and via Jim Carrey of course. I heard Carrey talk about him in an interview a couple of times as well - considering Dangerfield was the one who discovered Carrey.), Mel Gibson, and the Cryptkeeper. The Cryptkeeper one is funny because he's doing the 'Home Alone' face. Originally he was supposed to become Spielberg as well (who is the producer of this movie) but that was scrapped because Spielberg said he wasn't 'much of an actor'.
- Lee's female makeover (Critters 2). When you are a shapeshifting alien that can transform into anyone or anything...what is the first form you'd choose to be turned into? Why, a gorgeous blonde supermodel of course...after all that's what Lee did and from the looks of it, Lee actually likes it (actually you can actually hear her saying 'body fit' in an alternate version). Of course she does unfortunately have a bit of a run-in with the Hungry Heffer manager (Eddie Deezen) and she does become him, but she turns back into her gorgeous self. And did I mention she tries to become Freddy Krueger as well?
- Irena's were-panther transformation (Cat People 1982). Having werecat powers would be pretty awesome, the only drawback is that you'd turn into werecat form if you sleep with someone else. This was a pretty well done transformation scene and the only problem I have is the ending where she just becomes a panther and stays that way.
- All of the vampire transformations in From Dusk Till Dawn.
- Carola becomes a gargoyle (Lover's Vow segment from Tales From The Darkside: The Movie).
- Thunder puffs up and explodes (Big Trouble In Little China). When you are an ancient but extremely powerful sorcerer named Lo Pan, you're going to need some extremely powerful minions/bodyguards and that's when this trio comes in, Lightning, Rain and Thunder aka The Storms. All three of them have powerful elemental magic and can control the weather, with Thunder being the strongest due to his inhuman strength and his ability to deflect physical attacks via inflating his body, it's an ability he shows off quite a few times but unfortunately if you make him angry and I mean reeeeally angry, he won't be able to stop himself once he starts puffing up and when he does, he'll pretty much outgrow you and will also outgrow his shoes as well, and yes he will resemble a Garbage Pail Kid as air comes out of his nose and ears before he explodes...leaving behind a green mess that can either be described as ectoplasm, vegetation, vomit, or some other gooey liquid. This definitely must have influenced Kitana's Kiss Of Death as well as Bo Rai Cho's suicide move.
- All of the transformations in 'The Thing'. Especially the Thing-Dog and the Norris-Thing ones.
- Akivasha's demon transformations in Kull The Conqueror.
