People noticing I don't sign my stuff
Multiple people have recently noted to me that I don't sign most of my work.
I don't really have a reason I leave things unsigned. It just never occurs to me that a signature would mean much on my esoteric, intermediate-skill level drawings of imaginary cartoon animal people.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on whether or not you sign your own work, what your signature means to you, and whether you'd recommend it to anyone else. I'd like to learn what I'm missing.

Flickie explained that it adds something to the piece that makes it more your own. Not just as a copyright thing, but something people can recognize. It's branding. Akin to seeing an art style and knowing who drew it without seeing the name of the artist in my inbox.
So, I do it, especially with commissions, because of that first one. I sign my personals thanks to Flickie.
<3 love you
Also I had my art stolen before, so theres that too
I also sporadically add a date to some works because I always remember me and my bestie saying “hmm what year did I draw this again?” And wanted to stop doing that. If some art has a date then the rest around it can be estimated as well.
