Wassup guys, it's fuzzbutt Daniel again!!
Haha, funny weird clickbait aside, it is a genuine question. I see posts all the time where an artist has come across yet another case of someone stealing their artwork and passing it off as their own -- or in worse cases, SELLING them as adopts! Yeah, so what that the artist worked hard to study, practice and draw over and over and over again? I wanna draw mega-huge-gal 10,000 and make dem MONEEZZZZZ!!!
(even if it's through stealing other people's hard work and it took no effort on the part of the thief...)
Look, I hold no illusions that I'm a particularly popular artist. I've got fewer than a thousand watchers after almost a decade on this site, and I'm cool with that. But, I know it's easy enough for folks to stumble across art they like the look of, copy & paste it into photoshop or whatever, and trace and trace to their heart's content. And it's wrong.
If you are an art-thief or tracer, then I request one thing: Just ASK for HELP. I'd be absolutely delighted if someone found my work and thought it was good enough that I could advise and help others with their own struggling work. But don't steal it and think nobody will notice. And definitely don't be scummy and sell things that you didn't earn.
Aside from that, I'd just like to know if anyone notices art theft of my work. Don't confront them, don't bully or harass them. Tell me, and I'll see if it warrants action.
Thanks folks, I'll appreciate it ^^
At the absolute minimum, an animator or what have you should have CREDIT to let people know where it comes from! At least on that site GiantessBooru, they always try to find the original source and link it so people can find the artist. I discovered a lot of folks through there.
But plagiarism, tracing, art theft, reposting without permission or even credit... it's just scummy and annoying.
Maybe you should set up your own PornHub account?
