Beginings of a Journey
So here I am.
I'm making this to kinda recap what's gone on. So I've been a "Furry" for a while. (I mean you can look at my account creation date >.>)
I've been terrified to make a Sona tho, so this has been years in the work. He originally started as an orange dragon, based off the "Ekaterina" family crest from The 39 Clues. I attempted to draw this at some point, and some one pointed out that it looked like Charizard from Pokémon. And from that point, I never used an orange dragon again, and he changed from orange to purple.
As I was continuing to work on his design, I found a TON of similar dragons. Some that actually caused the first artist someone commissioned for me to decline my com due to the similarities. This caused me to stop the development of my Sona entirely, and I shelved him. During this time I was really arguing with myself about remaining in the Fandom.
Eventually, one of my friends convinced me that there's really no such thing as an original idea, and I shouldn't worry about it. So I pulled the idea I had for my Sona off the shelf, dusted him off and begun to work on him again.
I eventually commissioned an artist to work on my Sona, and I paid probably more than I should have to get a reference done. (I didn't have a job at the time, so yeah) While they worked on my ref sheet I started to think about the colors once again. When the time came for the artist to color my ref, I froze. I couldn't do it. So I asked them to shelf him indefinitely until I was ready...
About a year passed, when my friend approached me with an artist friend who needed some help. They had opened emergency coms and she was wondering if I liked their style. I did, and that jump started me into trying to finish my Sona. So I worked and fleshed out any changes I wanted on my original character, and worked out the colors. I contacted the original artist of my ref, and told them I was ready to proceed. Since so much time had elapsed, they requested that they redraw it entirely. I agreed, but then no progress was made. I started to commission other people left and right, using my outdated sheet. It had been a bit, so I contacted the artist again, offered them $50 bucks for the redraw and they accepted.
So now here I am, and now I'm going to begin uploading the work I got, probably not in the order it was received.
TL; DR:
I'm bad at making decisions and get cold paws easily. I finally finished my Sona, and I'm going to begin uploading the art I've gotten of him.
