I myself prefer wearing swimming trunks (even though I like to wear bikini-style underwear) but I am sorry you had to experience that. I think it’s something about the double standards in our culture. A woman can go around a beach in a skimpy bikini but a man in a speedo is unacceptable in the eyes of society. Sad but true.

That’s why we need to get rid of all of the boomers and the Abrahamic religions. It’s their fault that our culture is like this.

That’s a little harsh, I feel you though. The good news is that things change over time. After all, we legalized gay marriage so that’s a positive. Who knows what progress will happen? Maybe you can change your family’s outlook and convince them to be more open minded about what you wear.

Not to be a dick, but I feel like it's the fault of a lot more than just boomers and religion (Just religion in general quite honestly causes a lot of pain, suffering, and war; See the entire Middle East). Most Millennials often complain about the state of the US and don't try to fix it (see the absolutely dismal voter turnouts as of recent); Gen X doesn't speak up loud enough (Though, to their credit, are at least trying); Boomers are either ignorant, malicious, powerless, or a combination of the three; Silent Gen and the rare few individuals of the GI and Lost Gens that are still alive are already on their way out the door and either don't know, don't care, or are too old to do anything about it; and most of Gen Z and all of Alpha are too young to do anything about it. Not to mention the impact of corporations, politicians, and several crazy people.
