Writing Commissions
So, I used to do writing commissions waaaaaay back in the day and I started to have interest from a few parties about possibly returning to this activity. I don't usually make journals but I wanted to gauge interest in the potential return of commissions to my page.
Now specifically I'd be following a charging system very similar to the rest of the industry and this community in general, most stories would be charged per word equaling to around $20 - $30 per 1000 words depending on content. Naturally I know that most people are going to be interested in less than innocent things when I open up something such as this, so I'd also be open to doing commissions for MOST kinks. There would be some exceptions naturally, but for the most part if it's not insanely gross (things like dirty anal, farting, etc) I'd be able to accommodate.
Finally I'd allow people to request my characters in their stories depending on content, and I don't believe that I'd charge anything extra for their usage. Payments would be handled through Paypal and there would be a sample after the first 20% of the writing (if length is agreed upon beforehand, else it'd be after 500 words) to ensure that the overall style of the writing and the direction looks good to the commissioner.
Payment would be requested AFTER that agreement to ensure no refunding is necessary and to ensure that any queue is purely a spot in line and not held by deposit.
Please feel free to leave any comments or questions, really just want to see what you all might think!
Thanks. <3
Note: Pricing is still on the table at this time, so take this all as preliminary thoughts.

Your sample idea is really interesting. I guess it works as a sketch of sorts? I've personally used the outline for that and only did WIPs when I'd feel I have to take longer due to real life events, or if the commissioner demanded them. But the thing with writing is that WIPs often don't mean much. Unlike art they're too fragmented, too incomplete to understand how it all ties together, especially if the good stuff happens later :D I've personally gotten WIPs from other writers I commissioned but always preferred to read the final, complete version.
I think that even though you'd be okay with most kinks, you should still either do an F-list or compile a list with what you are willing to write about and what is not your cup of tea. Some people will defo surprise you with their kink creativity :D
P.S: I noticed you mentioned the pricing is still on the table after I added my comment. I usually don't comment on such matters because it's up to the artist to price their works, and to the buyers to decide whether it's worth it. What I personally did was start with lower prices so that I can build a commission portfolio of sorts. And over time, if the demand increased, I'd increase the prices as well. Because otherwise I wouldn't be able to keep up with the number of orders and I'm also a rather slow writer(I'm not a native english speaker so I type slow and do quite a bit of editing). I think it's more advantageous to start low, get paid and enjoy the challenge of commissions, then aim high and risk not having orders. But I was also a nobody when I started and had little to no followers so it was hard for me :D
Also, I think its really important to have some stories uploaded. It will be the best marketing for your commissions, as they show people what you are writing, and how you write it. So whether they are past commissions or personal work, I think it'd be really cool to give your readers and potential commissioners an insight into the worlds and scenarios you create :)
Good luck with this!
Firstly the mention of being able to work within an allocated word count, and that's actually something I've considered a lot. I don't believe that with my writing style I'll be able to nail the word count on the head each time, which is why if one paid for say 1000 words and I ended up needing 1200 words? I wouldn't charge extra for that. I am aiming for quality more than milking someone for every drop of cash I can get. ;D
Secondly the F-list mention is actually something I've considered as well, but I didn't want to link any of my pre-assembled f-list pages because they're kind of kinky on their own right.
Third the reason I am considering doing WIPs is because I want to ensure that the tone of the story matches what is desired to the best of my ability. I have tried it before with mixed success, but I figure it's better to at least offer some sense of progress mixed with an overview of the planned arch. I'll have to toy with this a bit.
Finally and this kind of ties into the last point a bit, the reason why I haven't uploaded anything is because many of the files are lost and the stories that I do have currently don't really fit the format of this FA page. I may make a second FA page specifically for writing so that my art doesn't become buried if this actually succeeds in any meaningful way; that's also why I want to keep any deeply kinky themes out of this journal. (F-list pages for example)
But hey you're 100% right on all those points, and I'm really happy that you took the time to offer those viewpoints. ^w^
Thanks, so much!
If you make a second FA page, consider that you'd lose a fair portion of the marketing your art attracts. And what if sometimes you get lucky and can write stories that also have an art attached to them? I sometimes do trades/deals with people and they end up like this https://www.furaffinity.net/view/33476631/ or this(which was a commission) https://www.furaffinity.net/view/32119464/
On which account would they go? It's much much slower for a writer to get commissions than it is for an artist so I'd personally take all the marketing help I can get especially in the beginning. If your writing is so charming it speaks for itself, that will be wonderful, but keep in mind that FA isn't really writer-friendly. As in, writing gets a glance whereas art gets the stares :D Though you've been here longer so I think you already are aware of this? I wasn't so I try to mention this where I can in case it helps. I've met many cool people and some commissioners too simply because of the art so I can't deny its importance.
You know that's actually a very good point, and it's something that I did admittedly think about briefly though perhaps not to the extent that I should have. In the end I could see that there's a very large benefit to keeping everything on one profile, because you are absolutely right... art speaks. People are here for art, and while writing exists this is definitely not a platform that was designed around it.
I think in the end I'll probably keep everything on this profile in that case, and if anything is too 'hardcore' I'll just keep it off of this page.
Thanks again for those thoughts, once more you've given me a lot to think about!
