Original Character list for FatalCalamityz. Each entry features a brief bio about the character's personality, background, and interests.
Kevin James "Big Kev" O'Hara:
Kevin, better known by his self-appointed moniker, "Big Kev," is a 30-year-old male typhlosion from the Mirai region who is the owner and head baker of Big Kev's Bakery, one of the most esteemed eating establishments in all of his home region. His unrivaled passion for baking might be the only thing that surpasses his massive appetite, as he learned from an early age that food was just as fun to make as it was to eat, and even more so to share among mon. This satisfactory feeling served as the animus that inspired him to open his bakery, and he has experienced phenomenal success ever since.
Outgoing and optimistic, Big Kev is an easy mon to get along with due to his cheerful and carefree personality. Typically, most mon are intimidated upon meeting him for the first time, but they quicly warm up to him once they see how kind-hearted he is. He is adored by his community as a quintessential example of a "gentle giant" - a big mon with a big heart who lives life to the fullest - which makes him very popular with children. Although he might be the most compassionate mon you could ever meet, that does not mean he is naive; while not necessarily a genius, he still possesses above-average intelligence.
According to Big Kev, "bein' a bit on the chubby side runs in the family." Both his typhlosion mother and ursaring father are overweight, and both are involved in culinary professions. Growing up, Kevin's parents let him eat whatever he wanted whenever he wanted, but also lectured him in basic courtesy so as to prevent him from becoming a spoiled brat. Kevin holds a strong friendship with his father, as it was him who engendered Kevin's interest in baking within him when one day, he asked his father how his favorite chocolate-chip cookies were made - and the rest is history.
While he takes pride in his size, he remains humble about how truly big he is. He doesn't like to draw too much attention to himself because of how unusually obese he is for his kind, preferring to let his jovial nature and strong sense of philanthropy shine. Funnily enough, he often gets misidentified as a snorlax due to his sheer massiveness and the coloration of his fur, although he doesn't mind, finding humor in the comparison.
Taelyr Singleton:
Taelyr is a 35-year-old female flygon from the Agora region who is best-known for her appearance in the premier episode of The Weird, Wacky, and Wonderful of the World, which discussed her extraordinary lifestyle as somemon who celebrates being extremely obese. She operates a blog that chronicles what a day in the life of a mon as abnormally corpulent as her is like, writing about how she came to appreciate her appearance, how her size affects her daily routine, and - of course - her excessive love of food.
According to her, fat is sexy, and she is not afraid to flaunt every single pound of her hefty frame with utmost bravado, even if she comes off as quite... aggressive. She takes great pride in her generous proportions, which she refers to with alliterative titles like "behemoth of a belly," "glorious girth," and "titanic tuchus." She is also attracted to fellow overweight mon, and aspires to marry a male mon with a girth as big as hers.
She cites some inexplicable pleasure to be found in being big, soft, and heavy, and works to maintain her hefty frame by consuming monstrous quantities of food on a daily basis. With a massive appetite that knows no humane limits, feeling full isn't enough to stop her from eating endlessly to the point of bursting, and she can't go at least half a waking hour without eating something. She shamelessly confesses to being guilty to the sin of gluttony, but states that she wouldn't want to live any other way, as she is happy with her current lifestyle and doesn't see the value in "fixing something" that doesn't need to be fixed.
Yet there is a deep, dark reason that she is the way she is, something in her youth that triggered her fantasies about gaining an absurd amount of weight and her constant belief of hunger. Unfortunately, Taelyr despises talking about her "past self," as she is trying her hardest to abandon that part of her life and establish a new identity, so she angrily avoids the topic whenever it arises.
Aside from stuffing herself silly and blogging, her other passions include rock music, reality television, cooking, dancing and video games.
Miles Bracco
Miles is a 50-year-old male espeon from the Mirai region who is a rising figure in the environmental science field. A passionate inventor by nature, with a huge appreciation for the Earth's natural beauty, Miles' machines are used to help benefit the ecosystem, such as eliminating waste from bodies of water and unique ways of harvesting renewable energy.
Case in point, Miles is exceptionally intelligent, claiming that his high intellect is the only thing that surpasses his humongous appetite - that is saying something, because Miles eats a lot!
However, Miles often does not get taken seriously as a a scientist due to his weight. Since a majority of his inventions and contraptions are built with the idea of facilitating common tasks to require less physical effort to yield greater efficiency, they generally get criticized for "promoting laziness and lethargy," which was obviously NOT his intended idea. So whenever a mon delivers a genuine compliment about his work, it really means a lot to him to hear such praise.
Miles has a kind-hearted personality, but is a relatively shy mon. However, the happenstance that the topic changes to a subject Miles is genuinely passionate about, like science, the environment, or food, he noticeably becomes more loquacious and his tone shifts from quiet to a more high volume.
Kevin is my attempt to create a more positive portrayal of a fat character as the protagonist of a story, without his gluttony or corpulence being his defining characteristics.
Taelyr is an experimental character in terms of a more psychological approach to gainer fics. What engendered her strong desire to increase her body mass as much as physically possible? Why does she depend so heavily on food as a source of pleasure?
Miles is a fatfur character who is insecure about having an eating disorder - bad BED - so he is perhaps my most mature OC for that reason.
