Work has kind of dried up here as well.
I’ve been keeping an eye on the job posting boards, and the jobs posted are just a couple a day.

I made a chicken curry on jacket potatoes today...

I'm currently furloughed and not able to work as the shop I work for can't open until the 15th... so my life is kinda boring right now XD

That sounds about right. I’m currently out of work as well, and just waiting for things to start getting back on track again.

And that chicken curry over potatoes sounds really good. Did it turn out well? It was a ‘I don’t wanna cook day’, so I had Chinese food~ it was pretty good, though the sweet and sour was a bit bland.

Hopefully won't be much longer until we can go back to work... though in fairness, I've not been too bothered be being stuck at home, as I've just been doing exactly what I'd normally be doing on my days off anyway lol
The only problem is the lack of income, as even though they have the schemes for paying staff and companies getting paid back, I've had to deal with less than half my normal weekly wages for the past 2 months, and it's starting to strain on things now.

The curry was just a simple curry pack, so the longest part was waiting for the chicken to cook through. After that, it was just adding the sauce.
I kinda fancy some crispy duck, now that you've mentioned Chinese food XD

I want some sweet buns from T&T. I’m not sure if they have those outside of Canada, but t&t is a big Asian grocery store. You can get udon and bubble tea and lots of different Asian snacks not sold in normal grocery stores. Like there are 7-8 different kinds of kitkat there.

But I have been a good bully and stayed home. I have noticed I spend far less money in food, when I don’t visit the grocery store daily because of boredom. But yah, I getcha... times are tough and money is tight. -.-

We don't have a T&T (to my knowledge) here in England, but I do have a local Chinese market/store. They don't stock a lot of sweet stuff though, only one small section, but it doesn't involve the many flavours of KitKats lol
I really wish they sold bubble teas in there, but while I might like it, the town I live in is mostly a suburban place with a lot of older folks, so it probably wouldn't be a popular product around here. Still, there's at least 2 places in town where I can buy bubble teas, so it's no biggie.

I'm not sure how things stand in Canada, but we've now had it confirmed that all shops can re-open on the 15th (next Mon), so I can finally get back into the swing of things and start earning a full wage again, which will feel so much nicer and less worrying.

Wooooooooooork! First long stretch since back to work, today's a day off and I was ready for it. I realize you posted this a few days back, but the same thing was going through my mind when I started lurking around FA again...I was quickly like 'shit, I'm not keeping up with this again!' as weeks passed and it didn't even feel like it.

Definitely. Much more limited capacity, social distancing changed a ton. It's relatively safe, but there's plenty of dumb people out there who want to make it difficult or pretend covid risks don't exist. But it was pretty easy to adapt overall.
