Furries weren't a thing when the show was made but the comments on this journal sound like things which would fit on an episode of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citizen_Smith (the "protagonist" was a lazy Marxist with a low IQ who believed he could lead Britain into a new era of Communism despite his resources being limited to 5 friends (2 of whom never appeared on the show and were only described in season 3 after they'd supposedly left the Tooting Popular Front) and his benefit money.

An episode called Spanish Fly revolved around someone from a Basque Separatist movement assuming Wolfie was going to give actual support when he wrote a letter saying "The Tooting Popular Front supports your cause", when in fact that was literally all Wolfie was prepared to do, meaning the Spanish guy wasted time and money flying to London.

This show sounds amazing, thanks for pointing it out for me. I'll check it out the next chance I have.

You're welcome. :) The main issue it has is that a few jokes are based on what was contemporary pop culture so I didn't get them (I was born years after the show ended). It's still worth watching due to most of the jokes being accessible though (and the premise is great).
