I'm back from AWA (Anime Weekend Atlanta) and it was super duper uber fun! I drove
CJ-fox and one of his friends up to Atlanta singing and dancing in my car the whole way there. Unfortunately because I left my place pretty late we missed out on Fridays events, but Saturday totally made up for it!
There were so many people cosplaying as just about any character from any show/game you could think of. And what you wouldn't expect were there too.
We hit up the game room to play a little SSBB, and I dominated the room (lies). Checked out the Dealer's room to see what merchandise was available. All I got was a floppy eared dog hat, but CJ went all out. He picked up the shield from Legend of Zelda, Chopper's hat from One Piece, a gunblade from some dude in a Final Fantasy game, and had a Naruto head band he already had. People just stopped by taking pictures. It was cuh-rayzee!
We stopped by a showing AMVs and saw a Dragon Ball Z special. Did you know Vageta has a brother?
And the biggest part I enjoyed was seeing 2 voice actors who played Edward Elric and Winry from Full Metal Alchemist. I can't go too into it, but it was high energy and pretty hilarious.
Later in the night, we played Brawl, trading wins and losses. I won most of the matches (also lies).
All in all it was a fun time. So fun that I'm actually feeling that "post-con" feeling where you're not ready to go just yet. I'm already looking forward to going to more conventions!
Next stop: Momocon ('10) and FWA ('10)! I wont be fursuiting, but I WILL be cosplaying!
Also being at an event that was all about the animation, comics and games has got me motivated to draw a whole lot more. Time to get a move on again! :D

He was also talking about a site anyone can join called the "Risembool Rangers". On the site is also a list of conventions he'll be at, so maybe you'll have the chance to go see him near you. http://www.risemboolrangers.com/
A lot of the places are well air conditioned so sweating is not much of a concern. And majority of the crowds wont pay any attention to you unless you're one of the guests of honor or you pull off cos playing really well. And there aren't as many hot girls as you think... Ok, I lied, but it just takes will power and quick eyes.
