I wish like a single mobile hack wasn't a blatant scam
5 years ago
I somehow manage to depress myself constantly by revisiting old mobile games that I'd stopped playing to see if they've improved or added anything neat. So I'll play them for a while and it's all cool for like a day or two, and then I start gradually seeing the signs again... and it becomes frustrating because I can't just PLAY the god damned game. I can't earn the things that I want.
It tends to lead me to arbitrarily searching for gem hacks and the like. Which are always fun to watch the youtube videos for because they are always exactly the same. These scams are a science. Go to this website. Input your usename and device type. Insert number of currency you want, lols. Watch this fancy simple to create visual animation of things telling you that it's logging into servers and adding the currencys and now-Okay, just need you to do a "Human Verification" step. (Because we can't let bots cheat, only humans, lols.) You'll just need to do this survey or download this app, "It's Easy!" and then the video SKIPS PAST DOING THAT PART and then shows you the aftermath of, Now here's that account we showed at the beginning of the video with a bajillion credits now! Totally worked, lols! Nevermind that part we cut out in the middle. The part where it doesn't work and just takes you to the actual scam. *eyerolls*
There's only one time in history that I finally encountered an actual exploit, for Injustice mobile, that allowed me to basically sell a card without actually selling the card and thus slowly accrue a buttload of highly valuable currency which allowed me to purchase more card packs and things, and generate more valuable resources that I desperately needed. And the funny thing was, that even after doing all of that, I was still seemingly under-powered. Not only that, but upon reflection of the amount of time I'd already spent playing the game (like a year) and the amount of currency and resources it took to bring me up to speed with the exploit only to still not be at the top of my game... if I'd had to earn all of those resources legitimately, then it probably would have taken me 2-3 years. And then I still wouldn't be top of my game... Lols. What a crock of shit.
So like... yeah... I really want cracks and hacks of the mobile game's I've played. Just so I could actually fucking enjoy them again for once. Preferably even so I could play them without having to connect to their servers and just generate my own guilds and whatever other mess of "fake friends" I'd need to emulate to accomplish tasks in certain titles. Not because I *need* that extra step, so much as just to avoid the inevitable account banning part. Because that'd surely happen. Lets not let anyone have fun. No cheating allowed in our games! Lols. Only that's a lie. They allow blatant cheating. The difference is that the other people are PAYING for their cheats and advantages. You're trying to cheat for FREE?? Fuck you mate.
Whatever, I'm frustrated and just wanted to update my journal, nobody's gonna comment anyways. :p

FA+

Primarily why I got into playing Deck Builders and table top genres that measure your skill not the collection you have. Only reason to play magic the gathering is if I want to pick up a draft. The prize is not important to me.
Ascension, Thunderstone Advance, Star Realms, Summoner Wars (The table top game), these games got me thinking about game design.
Why does this game have priced itself on the idea that if I pay money for you I have less of a game I want to play? Shouldn't I be paying for mechanics or sets that allow new scenarios to expand upon the core of the game design?
But I mean, I agree otherwise :p
:3 there are plenty of people around I've discovered when it comes to gaming (Very much so in the TTRPG side of things), My problem is not enough hours in the day these days.
Used to play Tap Titans like a fiend. played for 5 years. Then they shut down the servers and forced people into downloading and playing Tap Titans 2.
Everything was different. The leveling, the weapon drops, the way you got currency. Especially the currency. Currency was diamonds. The only way to earn diamonds, aside from paying for them in the store with real money, was by tapping on a fairy and watching an ad. Technically you COULD still earn diamonds through normal gameplay, because there were fairies that dropped diamonds, but a fairy diamonds had like....a 1 in 60 chance of appearing.
I toughed it out for 2 more years, then said screw it and deleted.
And I also might be numb to gacha bullshit after 20 years of TCG playing.
but as you said :p can't really play who you want and that kills it for me a fair bit. Even if I just played a team that was highly equipped with relics and things, I couldn't ever seem to clear most content rated at like over 120-140 or so? From there it seemed to rely too much on gimmicks or sheer luck to get by, on top of an actually fully kitted out team and just... Ugh... It's not fun playing something you flatly can't win.
And I always felt like the endgame content seemed to rely on you hitting with your limit breaks more than anything else, since spells and abilities had a hard fall-off of damage and literally every boss is immune to status effects and debuffs. But you gained limit too slowly for that to be viable either. My teams were usually dead before they got their limits in the harder content. XP
The biggest problem with FFRK is the content creep. At time of writing your team consists of:
5 characters (all of them available from the start except the Kingdom Hearts characters).
-Each with 2 abilities
--Those abilities can be honed for more uses in battle and more damage (using material you grind for)
--With the most powerful abilities unlocked via beating the dungeons needing teams of at least 3 characters from the same game
--And now specific characters can get unique abilities that only they can use, with new ones being added once a week
-Up to 10 Soul Breaks at a time
--You get from random draws (which the game now showers you in)
--Soul Breaks come in Unique, Super, Burst, Chain, Ultra, Overstrike, Arcane Overstrike, Awakening, and Sync
--Soul Breaks become the anchor points of your strategy past the 180 level.
-1 Limit Break
--These are new, function like Soul Breaks but different. So far Vivi is the only character with one.
-2 Legend Materia
--Each character has 2 you can unlock via grinding, the rest are random draws
-1 Record Materia
--Unlocked by leveling up characters, but can be swapped between characters.
5 Magecite
-Can be 3, 4, 5, or 6* in power
-Not random draws but need to be progressively harder bosses to get them
OR
1 Historia Crystal
-Unlocked from the start, powered up by beating certain bosses
You are correct that later-game content is all about hitting those breaks. The game really becomes all about juggling your buffs to keep your team alive long enough for the DPS to wake up. If you're interested I can actually break down how to do that. Though the problem of 'you play who you draw' never really goes away. Matoya from FFI and Ward from FFVIII are currently my best characters, lol. Upside is Kelger and Red XIII are viable throughout. Freya only has a specific niche and otherwise isn't great, sadly.
I dunno, I'll probably look at it again one day, but I feel like I got frustratingly stuck pretty quick last time. And I don't doubt that wanting to run Freya contributed to that.... XD
Basically the elemental specific dungeons more or less require you to have something called a 'chain soul break' for them after the first round of them. Red XIII is eternally viable since he holds one of the best earth chains (him and Emperor from FFII have identical chains, but Red has the better Awakening). Kelger doesn't have a chain, but earth ninjas are bonkers right now and he's second only to Yuffie in that respect. Freya holds the worst wind chain, but you can grind to unlock that chain instead of relying on gacha random draws. So Freya would be viable on your wind team until you pulled a better wind chain. Montblache, the only Irvalyce moogle in the game right now, remains useless sadly. FFVI Mog is good though.
Apparently entertainment means drain your money for a small hit of that good ol' brain juice tellin' you you did a THING good.
yeah... no :p
