Question for Trans people
I would like to do better and I am looking for your help.
When I started commissioning 10 years ago and there wasn't a lot of intersex/male art where the male wasn't the top, so I decided to start commissioning it myself and share it with other folks that might enjoy it. Whilst I have tried to be trans-friendly, not being trans furry myself I accept I may be ignorant on the matter which is why I am asking for your help if you have a few moments of time to spare.
I have moved away from using words to describe gender that are considered slurs (is herm considered bad in the furry community?) and my more recent OCs I have given them a back story and personality traits (the older OCs are not written down so I need to get on that) but is there anything more I can do to make my page a safe space for you? Would it ever be a safe space for you considering the content of my art is normally adult in nature? Am I overthinking this?
As to the content of my art, I do like to flesh out character by commissioning art that is not adult in nature, however, I don't have an infinite amount of funds to spend on commissions so it would be in instead of an adult piece. If you do think I should do more of the non-adult stuff though, please let me know.
I don't want to offend anyone by my ignorance on the matter and I try to educate myself where I can. I read that trans people get fetishized and treated as sex objects rather than people which is why I am trying to ensure that there is a story around the picture and it is not just mindless sex. Am I just making the fetishization of trans people worse by commissioning this art? Is there a way to commission adult art with trans people and not add to this issue?
If you don't want to leave a comment my notes are open too.
Thank you in advance for your time.

I will continue to use terms that people don't find offensive because it makes no difference to me, and if it makes them happy then it makes me happy. I am glad that you enjoy my art though, that means a lot to me! :)
Me, I don't agree with the trans stuff myself, but I don't go out of my way to offend anyone. Except maybe in some moments of weakness when someone tries to shame me for something I don't consider wrong. At that point, it's easy to make a worse statement that I know will offend them just to stir shit up. I guess I just enjoy seeing them freak out over what I consider nothing.
Also, pretty sure a lot of people have been turned off of characters who aren't fully male or female, like "herms" or "futa" or whatever you wanna call it. And it's because of that vocal minority who have decided to make a fuss about everything to the point that everyone ends up walking on eggshells, or has to block people just to get some gorramn peace and quiet. After so many trans people acting like a cult and going on some kind of crusade or jihad, is it any surprise that most people just want nothing to do with them or alternate genders at all?
Anyway, do what you like, and don't let the haters get you down. Life is too short to try and please everyone, especially those who can't be pleased with anything less than total domination of your mind and your life. Find some good friends you can trust in, seek joy at every opportunity, and fight back when people try to control you. It's your life, not theirs. Only you can say how it will go. Whether you end up in heaven or hell, make sure you get there by your own choices, not by the whims of others.
I know for a fact that some people find the term "F*ta" offensive, so I am more than happy to use the term Intersex instead, it makes no difference to me, if that is the PC term to describe someone of a non-binary gender then that's what I am going to use.
Unfortunately, the bar's been set pretty low - to the point that even acknowledging that gender does not necessarily equal sex is a radical idea for a lot of people. You're ahead of the curve.
Treating your trans characters as characters and not stand-ins for fetishes is a good thing to do. At the same time some people (including myself) are attracted to intersexed people - and I don't think there's any problem with that, just like how some people are attracted to fat or thin people. So you don't need to stop getting art of them. (In fact, some trans people I know get a *lot* of art/stories done of trans stuff.)
Stay aware, keep educating yourself, and you'll be fine.
I admit sometimes I have gotten art with nameless characters, like my dungeon-crawling series, which I wouldn't repeat knowing what I know now. I do need to a little better on some of my older characters, whilst I have a lot of info up in my head, I haven't written it down in their bio's yet so I really need to flesh them out a little.
