I interpret the rule change as "don't use negative remarks of any kind" such as derogatory remarks like name calling. You can still however, have the opinion of "I disagree". It's ok to be objective, but when attacking someone in a comment like "in my 'opinion', you're *insert slander here*." That's just negativity. Do you feel it's necessary to keep those sort of comments available? Or am I misinterpreting? Asking with an open mind to understand your perspective.

As Roarey and others have pointed out, there is the suspicion that the limiting of speech would be selectively reinforced, such as you cannot insult Muslims but it's perfectly okay to hate Christians. Or, "You're stupid if you say that." Is it really wrong to say somebody's comment is stupid if it is? The right to block somebody you dislike exists now, and it's up to the FA member to decide who they want to keep and who they want not to hear from. Furaffinity is not a government entity and thus it has the right to make and enforce rules that are necessary to keep order and prevent unfavorable situations. Furaffinity is meant to be a place of being inclusive to others as is the furry fandom in general. However That inclusiveness extends only to immutable characteristics such as race, culture, sex (aka what a person is biologically), gender (their identification as a male or female. Political preferences however are not considered immutable as are opinions.
