Happy Birthday, Mom

Today I'm not feeling well. It's my mom's birthday. She would be 55 today... if she were alive. Yeah, it's been seven years since she was gone. I was still 16 by that time. It was a really hard blow in my life and my heart still aches whenever I think about her. But what consoles me is the possibility of her finally achieving peace after a life of pain and suffering.
My parents were divorced for ten years. Don't need to say how painful it was for me to deal with it. But my mom suffered the most: her depression forced her to retire as a teacher due her inability to keep working. Her depression was too strong. She had a micro company, but it bankrupted. And her second husband was a drug addict and made her life a hell.
Because all of it, I couldn't really spend some quality time with her. But she always gave me the emotional support I always needed. She believed in me. And that's the most important. I want to believe that she's in a better place now, where she can have the happiness and peace she could never achieve when she was alive.
Rest in peace, mom. I will always love you.

Thanks. I can't be sure if she's in a better place now, but I certainly hope so.
