Cheap & Simple or Pricey & Elaborate?
Somewhat of an interest check for opening commissions again as I was thinking about other animation 'templates' I could offer.
So I pose the question, would you be more interested in cheaper simple (yet still quality) animations that most people could afford, or more complex elaborate animations that easily reach over the £100+ range?
What's your reasoning, and would there be any requirements for the type of content it'd have to be? Eg. "I'd be willing to pay any price as long as you animate my weird fetishes."
I've always liked the idea of my animations being accessible to as wide a range of people as possible, and giving people a level of animation quality that honestly isn't really seen around much. Which is why my prices in the past have always been undercharging a bit, and though I'm having to put them up due to a few reasons, I'd still like to give everyone the chance to have an animation from me if they're wanting one.
A Side note: Still on the fence about opening up coloured animated avatars, but it's something I'm constantly mulling over, so I'll keep you posted.

So if you could give me an example that might help me figure out just what people are wanting when they say they want something 'complex'.
Drawing a character is the easy part, rigging is boring but can vary a lot depending on what motion you want the model to do. If it's a really simple motion that's just a bounce or moving of parts without any manipulation, then I'd class that as 'simple' even if it's involving multiple characters.
However, anything that utilises 'fake 3D' where characters can turn and rotate smoothly I class as 'complex' due to the extra work rigging and bug fixing along the way. Which is how I price my current commissions.
