i mean her art is cute n stuff, but they keep buying with dumb rules and all the rudness. I just dont get it. For me being nice to customers is PRIORITY !

Yess, there was an artist like that that I followed. You didn't really see their customer service in action on their page, but I had to avoid any streams because they where SO RUDE. Like I understand being annoyed at people trying backseat drive your drawing or music choices, but they would talk about how ugly and difficult the character was (A commissioner piece, with the character owner in stream). And you basically was not allowed to talk about anything in the stream unless it was a compliment or ordering something - but if you had ordered something then you weren't even allowed to correct the colour/hair/whatever.

Been following them for years because they shade really really beautifully, but I got mad every time I saw a new piece from them, so I finally hit that unwatch button. And they are SO popular! I don't get it either

yeah same story here kinda, They take ages to do commissions, having a huge as list and u arent even allowed to change the character(because u ended up selling that char) and since she needed so long for the commssion...now u are stuck with art of a old char u dont have anymore.

She ignores u when u dont follow her rules or made a mistake..... its really exhausting

We might even be thinking of the same person xD. But there is unfortunately a lot of this attitude so there is multiple artist's it could be about. I can kinda get not wanting to change a character (if say you aren't comfortable drawing the new one, but then I think a refund should be offered, or at least a compromise). I am not the greatest at having a quick turn around myself, but that is why I am also semi-closed for commissions (only have 1 on the wait list and it's not paid for), but a I think anything more than 1 to 3 months is too much. It's not a fursuit commission lol.

I am trying to not come across as this judgemental a-hole, and I guess if people thrive being negative more power to them and all that - but I would rather pay double for an artist half as good, because I want to support people with a good attitude. Also not to confuse rudeness for blunt-ness. I know artists we commission are not our friends and that, and I think it's good that people have guidelines and respect for themselves, but being purposefully crass and rude and veiling it under "just saying it as it is" just isn't cutting it for me.

If they are from DA? Then we may think of the same person.
And ofc u need to be blunt sometimes but having zero customer service and acting like a bitch is no blunt at all. (sorry my gramma is shitty.)

I’m curious who this is about cus I get the feeling we’re thinking of the same person. Perchance do they complain about lack of activity, and insult artists who try to help them (both their skill and lack of followers) and sick their followers on them? Because if we are, oh boy oh boy, I like this artists work but the fact they complain so much put me off commissioning them and ever interacting in the comment section of their work again. They want ego boosting and not constructive criticisms .

I doubt we are thinking of the same Person tho. They are not like u said above. Its more they dont care about her customers. They blacklisted 2 of their most paying customer for a stupid reason. There rules are just ..... i dunno they dont make sense.

Wow, That is a horrible experience. I dont know, considering a lot of people on here have English as a second language on top of it. It it crazy to get mad for a poorly worded question. I dont know if English is your first language or not. It's mine, and even sometimes I read what I wrote and go shit, i was not clear haha. It just doesn't make sense to me to be rude to people.

I haven't had an issue with rude artists, but I have commissioned a piece of art in September 2018 and im still waiting.. so pretty frustrated with that lol. The artist would take for ever to answer my messages and when she would she would ask for which piece i commissioned and my reference EVERY TIME. She did make journals about struggles etc.. I commissioned her specifically because she needed help financially at the time, and the art was nice. But now i kinda wish I didn't actually help because I've been chasing the piece.
