Comms Opening Again Soon + Something Big
Just a heads up that I will be opening up for some more commission slots soon, but I'm thinking I might offer something a little different alongside some icon slots.
Interested in having your character sing along to part of a song in a music video presentation? The style will still be my silhouette style for now as there's just far too much work in doing full coloured at the moment, but if you want an example of my lip sync work you can check out this recent animation test here. Just imagine this but in flat colours lol
The price will vary a lot depending on the length of the clip you give to me, but I'm thinking anywhere between 30 seconds to a minute. Slower music with slower speaking can go on for longer while fast talking with a lot going on would need to be shorter. I'm trying to scale it to around the same amount of work, essentially.
Music Speeds:
This would be very fast, have a lot going on, and take far more work. So I could only do a small portion of it, I may also scream at you for suggesting this.
This would be what I'd call 'average' speed.
A waltz like this would be considered 'slow'.
The amount of characters/models done varies again on what the music is and the ideas that I can see through the music, but it's NOT just going to be one model singing static at one angle, that is not what I'm offering. I'm offering multiple angles, background changes, camera movement to essentially make a small portion of a music video.
If you want an absolutely ancient example that I've done, it'd be something like THIS. Just with better rigging, more motion and generally just looking better because that was done in 2014 good lord.
Things to Consider
Characters with a distinguishable silhouette.
Colour scheme - It's not limited to just black and white,.
A song clip that feels concise on it's own. If it feels weird cutting the lyrics off at that point, find another spot or another song. You'll thank yourself for it later.
What's your budget? I'll try and work to what you're willing to go to as much as possible but sometimes if you want quality it will have to cost.
What Type of Music I'll Go For
Alas I don't like every genre, and this isn't first come first serve, so here's some music genres I enjoy a lot:
- Classical Hardcore Hybrid
My absolute favourite music genre. Combines the hard bass kicks of electrona with the complex melodies of classical music. Bonus points if it's Gothic themed.
- Most Electronic Music
However I'm not fond of dubstep and D&B can be a hit or miss for me.
- Movie Musicals
I have a soft spot for things like Disney musicals and I'd honestly really enjoy to do any of the villain songs from one.
- Electro Swing
Just generally fun stuff.
- Anime Openings
Depends what it is, but they can usually lend their way naturally to animation.
Most other music I'm fairly neutral on but I'm sorry I really don't like rock or metal music very much at all. I know it's incredibly popular but I've never been able to get into it. Your dreams of being a screamo death metal furry will have to remain dreams for now.
The Price
The moment everyone has been dreading, oh no.
I'm thinking of putting the average around £200 and it may fluctuate up or down from that mark depending on your specific idea. One minute is damn long in animation terms and this is not only covering all of the drawings, rigging and animation, but also the design, composition, storyboarding and background work. This is not a small thing and I won't just accept any idea for it.
So, hoping that's given everyone some things to mull over and think about, feel free to contact me just to get an idea of what I can do, bounce ideas off of me without committing to anything but please keep it to comments in this journal, not notes. This will also likely be open for a while when I do open the slot, so there's likely no rush.
