It's not that said kids are explicitly on the site, but that the existence of said art can be used for the purpose. They pretty much think that stopping people from posting on the site would stop it from being made, which makes no sense since there are billions of other methods to obtain that material.

This feels like a bad excuse to justify that they don't like it, since if they really wanted to "protect people" they would start by having a better reporting system for dealing with individuals that are spreading this kind of content (real life stuff I mean), and not just pure fantasy art that is about as detached from reality as killing someone in a video-game is

Oh, there's not doubt in my mind that they're using it as a front for trying to get their way. It's the whole "think of the children" argument, which is nearly always done is bad faith to change the conversation in their favor while vilifying the opposition. Unfortunately, both that argument, and the staff being put under constant harassment and pressure on both Twitter and their own forums, and the site owner being in the hospital through all this, probably made it difficult for them to take any other path.

Honestly, I partially see it as "give them FLO, let the those people have their space away from the rest of us." I'm not gonna bash the site, but as toxic as that community has become, I'd rather they stay there instead of FA/Weasyl/InkBunny/SoFurry, so the rest of us can have a little peace.

Also, given what they've given exemptions for in the Feral Ban, and the fact that being synthetic might get around it (they say inflatables/pooltoys and plushies are exempt from the ban), I legit can't see any logic behind their decision. Anything can be used to groom anyone for anything if you look hard enough.

I'd say this won't be a 'problem' for 'us' so long as people don't have a mass exodus from FA to FLO. If they just duplicate their account, fine. But people moving to Twitter exclusively is an indicator that people are really looking for an FA alternative and want to get out of here for some reason. I hate needing to use so many different platforms just to follow people I like.

Guess FLO will fall as another irrelevant site, just like all the other sites that try to replace FA. If you ban half the community, your user base will fall to the point where nobody will hear about it and then it'll just disappear.

Looks like FLO is only serious about being a competitor insofar as being a competitor for the people who buy into the flawed logic. Which I don't think is big enough to truly be a competitor to FA.

FLO was a doomed cause the moment they overstepped the regulations. Anticub and banning (Obvious zoophelia cases) is good enough.

Keep in mind that FLO is a small time project that literally has like two admins who are scrambling to keep their site how they want it. FLO wasn't exactly meant to handle everyone jumping off FA again to some fad that will die off because of ferals or whatever. It won't even last as a good archive site since pillowfort exists. The reason you've probably heard about FLO is probably because of some of the bigger names, like yourself now, who've mentioned it in some way. There's still plenty of sites that allow ferals to be hosted, it's not like FA is banning ferals, E621 is still running ferals, and they're not even blacklisted by default.

In a nutshell, yeah. No matter all the changes to YouTube, people aren't suddenly going to switch to like...Vimeo or Dailymotion or whatever. People still use youtube. Then again, YouTube's situation is different from FA, because people make money directly from YouTube, with FA, artists do make money here, but not directly from FA.

Remember when Pillowfort was going to be the hot new thing? The new Tumblr? And how everybody has forgotten about it already? These replacement sites pop up every few months, but they never last. You're right, the only reason most of us heard about FLO was because of this journal. It'll probably fall into obscurity, just like Furry Network and every other "FA killer" site.

I wouldn't say Deretto in particular, but I'm sure some of you have heard it only from him. Alot of other artists talked about moving some of their stuff over just as an archive or a secondary site but keep posting to FA or Twitter as their main account.

They didn't just ignore the harkness test. They said it was flawed and not worth using. The exact reply on it from one of the new mods was "I, and others, find the Harkness Test unconvincing, difficult to enforce & doesn't even apply to many real humans whom cannot speak. If a human cannot pass the harkness test, they obviously aren't one you should be trying to have sex with. Doesn't make the test flawed. It isn't speech limited either. It is ANY kind of clear ability to communicate and something like writing, telepathy, etc etc all are completely fair. There is no real flaw with the test, but more holes then you could count in their policy for ignoring it.

Yeah, no. Even though I'm considered a Pokémon and can technically exist on that site, I'm not going to. It's really filling up with the 'ew feral is absolutely DISGUSTING' people and they'll do anything they can to force their opinion on you and try to justify it with harsh words and claims of grooming or immorality. Common sense in there seems to fly over their heads, and the ones in there seem to celebrate it, or hate it because the ban is not enough. I'm still seeing people wanting to ban animal genitalia on anthros too, which is even more baffling. While yes, I am 'safe' because I am a Pokemon, I still do not agree with the logic and what is banned and not banned. What even bothers me more is that they have a blacklist too.

You know, I've been mostly hanging around non-furry circles of the internet and I've come across a number of people who legit think that furry, in and of itself, is a gateway to raping animals. These are "normies" by the way. So, it's hilarious to me when furry fandom gets its own moral puritans trying to draw lines in the sand. Chances are, a good portion of the normal population looks at these same moral police as just a bunch of animal fuckers.

The whole debacle is just getting ridiculous at this point. I dislike that zoophile is allowed, but now I'm seeing people leaving because they're not OK with their art being posted on a the same site that allows that, so they're leaving for... twitter? An even more massive site that allows a whole range of even more horrid shit? I've logged on there to find people calling out cub artists and other shit every other damn day. You'll never avoid something being allowed or slipping through the cracks unless you yourself are banning the content on like a personal discord or something.

What chaos. Absolute nuttiness. At this point the whole thing feels coordinated by some anti-fur org who are having a big laugh at all the people dancing to their tune.

The constant stream of sheer stupidity coming from this site with each new post is honestly astounding, their logic and reasoning is so flawed, it's beyond painful. It is honestly offensive how they throw everyone with a feral character, or those who create content involving feral characters under the bus with those brainless blanket statements and vile accusations, and it just seems to get even worse with each passing day on there.

The whole site is like watching a trainwreck in slow motion, but hey, if the policies on FA and such mean they're gonna keep away from here, and seclude 'emselves in their toxic echo chamber, just means we won't have to deal with 'em. They can really scream and rant all they want, but anyone with even the slightest modicum of rationality can see that their tumultuous bleating is both irrational and erroneous.

The flawed voting system, to the quickness of the poll closing when votes started favoring for feral, with no determined end time of the poll is reason enough for me to get suspicious on having a banning agenda rather than a fair vote. Most in favor of feral art didn't even know the site existed until word started spreading of a ban.

Well, I'd rather my art not grace a website that is against proper logic and morals. Art doesn't make you just like your video game choices don't make you. Your not a "zoo-phile" if you like feral content just like you aren't a groomed murderer for playing shooting games.

Yeah, they closed registration by the time I was able to try and sign up and vote, which was about the time you mentioned the vote was about to skew back to where it should be. Maybe I might've used the site but definitely not anymore, though if this hateful crud spreads, that's what I'm primarily worried about. But we'll be more aware of the next time anyone pulls this shit, and that site can die of lack of activity for all I care.

This. By the time I had learned about the poll, it had already closed a few hours prior. The poll was only open for two days; just enough for the radicals on their platform to get their vote in before the majority of the furry community learned what was happening. Only 2,071 people were able to vote before the poll closed. By contrast, the most followed person in the furry community is wolfy-nail with 90,225 watchers, so there are at least that many people that would have an opinion on this. This poll was deeply flawed and seems like it was designed to achieve this outcome. In fact, I suspect the admins closed the poll once they realized they were beginning to be brigaded by people from Furaffinity. An agenda was 100% at play here.

If you're reading this and you think Pokemon are safe, you're 1000% wrong. They've already set the precedent. It was literally put up for debate in the poll. I know artists and people on Twitter that will call any Pokemon porn bestiality. It is coming. It will become a hotly debated topic within the community in these next coming years, and FLO will undoubtedly ban ALL Pokemon porn when support for it ramps up in the near future.

Sexual morality laws are a slippery slope; they always have been for all of human time. It starts with people reasonably and justifiably trying to protect others: children, rape/incest victims, and animals. But once you begin restricting one thing, a whole bunch of other things will also fall. Incest and rape porn will soon be banned too (which honestly I might not have a problem with) because they groom people into committing rape and incest. FLO literally already has hypnosis categorized as nonconsensual in their upload policy.

Sexual morality laws are all so subjective. Furries are literally animals, just given human form. I personally see this cancellation trend accelerating towards an eventual singularity where furries cancel themselves purely because anthropomorphized animals still have animal traits and, therefore, still groom people towards bestiality. Never underestimate how dumb people can and will be in the future. /rant
