A Very Personal Update
This wasn't a post I ever really wanted to make, however because of the severity of all that's happened, I feel I need to address it as it is affecting my work flow. I don't want to be too specific, simply because the situations that have happened to me are rather unique, and talking about them too much could reveal personal details that I want to keep hidden.
Tl;dr - Some bad stuff happened, I'm not recovering terribly well and work is slow.
It's no secret that 2020 has been a bad year for a lot of people. Mine has been something of a roller coaster. I'm not going to detail everything that's happened, but since April, the highlights include getting COVID-19, a family member nearly dying of aforementioned COVID-19, a family member (about my age with kids) nearly dying of a severe medical issue, an older family member nearly dying of another severe medical issue, the family member with kids nearly dying a second time, a number of job insecurity issues relating to family members and a number of other issues. My family's main concern has been the recovery of my close family member and caring for their children.
The above is a vague and brief summary, and whilst I am grateful to announce that there have been no deaths in my family (despite the immensely overwhelming odds), this has affected me in ways I didn't expect. We do seem to be out of the woods with these health issues, though there may still be long term effects.
So how does this affect 2B Labs? Well, in short, my attention has been heavily divided, and my will to draw has been completely sapped. I am still completing commissions and doing my best to stay on top of Patreon rewards, but work is incredibly slow. Back in July, I took in way too many commissions (before my family member took severely ill), and I'm doing my best to work through them. I still have around seven of these to complete.
For those that have been waiting on these commissions, I am deeply sorry for these delays, and I will contact you each individually in the near future to discuss your commissions. I am aware these have taken an unacceptable amount of time, and I appreciate I have not been in touch as often as perhaps I should have been. All I ask is that you please don't consider the past few months to be 'normal' for me. These have been exceptional circumstances, and I regret how I've handled them.
If anyone wishes to contact me, my door is always open and I will respond to people when I can.
Thanks everyone. I love you all.
