Apologies for the Absence/Life Update
Hello!
I don't journal or talk about my own life here very often, but I'd like to apologize for my recent absence. I really do want to be an active account here, and I want to say thank you to all of the new watchers who came aboard while I was out. I know I've left some of you hanging and you have my sincerest apologies.
I'm trying to recover from some recent major life emergencies. My graphics tablet is currently broken, and I don't have the funds to fix it. My pup has offered to lend me his so I can raise back the money (hopefully some YCHs will be out soon)
Here's the story:
Me and my two partners have been through a lot this past month and it's been very hard on us, in unexpected ways.
We decided to move in together earlier this month, and things went far faster then we expected. Within a couple days of house-hunting, we were being invited to sign a lease. The place seemed alright, a little shabby, for sure, but we had space, a yard, a big kitchen and a fireplace. But it wasn't long before we started to notice something was up. People were constantly coming and going from the downstair's apartment. Random cars parked outside, strangers knocking on our doors at all hours, dogs howling, constant arguments we could clearly hear through the floor and windows. We got in contact with someone who used to live in the unit, and he basically confirmed everything we'd suspected and worse. The downstairs neighbors were dealing meth out of the house and out of the parking lot across the street, and had most likely been cooking meth down there. the cops, fire department, and animal control had been called to the house multiple times, and the downstairs neighbors had become violent towards the end, trying to break down the door to the point that they had to barricade them. This was corroborated by our other neighbors, and the fact that our landlord consistently ignored the problem, as well as that off faulty appliances and wiring at the house.
So! Thankfully we were able to get out. We found a new place together, but ended up paying for three months rent simultaneously. On top of that, my dad is in the hospital due to complications of throat cancer. On top of THAT, I sprained my ankle badly enough to be out of work several days and need a walking boot up to a month.
TL;DR: Our apartment was above a meth house, but we got out, my dad is really sick, and my foot is fucked up. Me and my partners are safe, but broke.
So yeah! Thank you all for sticking around, I hope more content is to come
