This is a side note but it's just me rambling. I don't really understand the people who are into snuff but don't like nutshot. Now I understand that people will like some things more than others. But it's odd when they like literally anything else but nutshots. Or if you like characters getting shot in boobs or butt but get disgust by the nuts what is so different butt shots and tit shots from the balls? The nuts is really underrated. In my opinion the nuts honestly seem like they are just there never really to be messed with. The only time the nuts actually gets a time to shine it's just because it's the cum producer that's it. Not really for anything else and even to sex the face or butt that'll get the most focus. You dont see people cumming on crotches now do you? Unless their female but Im talking about the balls/penis more specifically. It usually cum on face or on butt or in it. Now I do love me some headshots but I do like every part in the body including the nuts. I always found so odd that it is the least focus body part kinda like trying to act like it doesn't exist. A nude drawing is safe if the person doesn't have their nuts showing but what if it's the same drawing the person isn't doing anything to themselves just casual nude. Yet that automatically makes it matured or explicit. Even though nothing has changed except for adding genitals. know the butt and crotch isn't to far different from each other. I mean they are both considered private parts. Both used for the bathroom reasons. Both can be sexual, or used for sexual reasons. But the butt comes out on top. I don't really understand why. Anyway this has gotten to big and I'm sure if people read all the way through I mean this is incredibly long so I can see why they didn't but this is my honest opinion. Do you agree with me did I change your mind? Did I allow you to notice something different. Or you were completely unchanged? I hope it did something instead of nothing. I guess, as sylveon69 said, male genitals are a CBT (cock & ball torture) thing, while snuff is... well snuff.
There's also a distinction between snuff and gore, if we're honest, as gore leads to or is the result of snuff, but snuff doesn't have to lead to gore.
Pain, as sylveon suspected, wouldn't really factor into it though. Any kind of fatal injury would most likely hurt as hell, so I wouldn't expect specific regions of the body being avoided just because they might hurt badly when injured. Which part of the body wouldn't this apply to, really (except for internal organs that have no pain receptors like the brain itself)?
I think the reason to avoid nutshots in snuff art is simply an aesthetic one. Limp, flaccid male genitalia are a source of humiliation and entertainment. As popular as the priapism of corpses is in the snuff-community ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_erection ) a snuffed character wouldn't be able to maintain an erection forever and would eventually return to have a limp penis. The source of humiliation, feeling dominant over the victim, entertainment or maybe pity. If genitals are missing or mutilated this feeling might be diminished. So I guess this might be a reason to keep them intact.
Then there are different kinds of anatomy. My character is no stranger to being a victim, but you couldn't really aim for a nutshot at him in the way you would do for average anthros, as he has two separated testicles, as bunnies normally have. You'd either have to aim sideways to get both or you'd have to do two separate nutshots. Of course this anatomical feature is a special case as usually even furries with bunny characters prefer either a human or canid set of genitalia, instead of the original lapine one, as I do.

As for cumshots... I have seen ball-cumshots quite often in this fandoms artwork. Nobody aims at them, true, but they might get soiled eventually, as they are just in the way when the sticky mess happens.
The way genitals are depicted usually decides when to be considered SFW and when NSFW. In photography a nude person can be shown from the front. It would be considered tasteful nudity. This also applies to statues. You can, for example, watch Michelangelo's David ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_(Michelangelo) ) in public, even if certain closed minded people of this day and age consider a flaccid penis a theme for public outrage. When male anatomy is concerned, the state of the penis decides. Is if flaccid and not exhibitionistically presented, it's usually a SFW area (at least in reality, as websites have their own sometimes quite arbitrary rules), if the penis is erect, it's a sexual gesture and strictly NSFW. One doesn't have to be a fan of those rules or viewpoints, but that's what todays society regards as offensive. So that has to be displayed in private.
