not really. some people just prefer playing on consoles... its ultimately personal preference. some prefer a gaming chair, others their couch *shrugs*

both are equally pleasant so I don't see consoles becoming obsolete anytime soon

i mean, i prefer the snazzy, comfy gaming chair and the PC but that's just me

Sometimes people use controllers to play PC games which is more than good too.

there's quite a few games where i do that too, in particular souls-likes... like Nioh and hopefully Nioh 2 soon as well when its getting finally ported to PC. can't wait for that

Usually but in this case I don't know about that. If Microsoft shelled out that kind of cash it feels like their full intention is to bogart those properties and move X-Box units, not share some love with Sony even if Microsoft is generally the one who wants to play ball with everyone. This would give Microsoft some incredibly strong exclusivity in the way of the Elder Scrolls and Fallouts and now DOOM no less.

Buuuut on the other hand, as I said before too...Microsoft is kinda the 'play nice' team in a general sense (They've been quite cross platform for a good long while) so who knows. I'm sure they'd like to get buddy-buddy with Nintendo and keep the option open for portable Elder Scrolls games on Switch...

I mean, again, that very well could be Microsoft's plan. They don't have any exclusive killer aps and generally never do outside of like...Halo. They haven't even tried to use their Rare catalogue all that much (I'm surprised they still haven't tried to make a current gen Perfect Dark to try to revive that series or even a new Banjo proper since they seemed to have learned their lesson with Nuts & Bolts). So having established and loved franchises from Bethesda under their belt is a big kick in the nuts to Sony because, really, Microsoft doesn't have any real reason to play ball with them with these IPs.

So we'll see how it plays out.

i'd rather not. considering how incredibly disappointing and mediocre The Outer Worlds turned out to be, I'd prefer if they stick to Bethesda.

Before anything gets taken away from Bethesda I'd really like to see what they can do under proper management and budgets. With Microsoft at the helm there should literally be NO excuses for the shit shows the last handful of Bethesda titles have been (Doom series excluded. Doom team needs to keep on being amazing). I suspect Microsoft will be doing some severe restructuring of the teams involved with what will be their 3 main attractions (Elder Scrolls, Fallout and Doom) to make sure their investment pays dividends.

That's a good point. $7Billion is way too much to just let Bethsoft keep sliding out half-assed and bug ridden games riding on franchise recognition alone.

I do wonder where this will go in the end, just hope those "Features" are taken out.
