I was wondering if anyone has ever made a female version of this Fox McCloud model (that isn't a cheap Krystal recolor or simply replacing boobs/vag)?

Honestly, it would be pretty amazing to see an (animated) Fox TF/TG sequence using such models. I even left some comments on MrSafety's https://www.furaffinity.net/user/mrsafety/ home page about this as suggestions who uses similar models as you can see.
