is this a furry porn site or something? did i miss the warning or what? because i am really starting to wonder... it'd make sense about why all the ads are for "adult furry sites" LOL hardblush
okay so i am pretty tolerant of stuff because i can be kind of a pervert but i mean...seriously.
all i seem to find when i search anything is

porn.
and some of this is stuff is pretty fucking sick too. in a bad way. like a minute ago i looked up "panda" and among a bunch of perverted finds i found a bunch of pics of a panda girl being forced to give oral and other such things..
im sorry but i thought this would be a cute little site where i could get AWAY from some of the stuff on dA. but now that i joined and saw this...deviantArt seems like a children's site e___e DeviantArt is one of the largest art sites on the web, you think i'd see that as worse than...this. i never did think it was that bad but i know people who did... it doesnt mean im leaving this site but still.. i might not search stuff anymore, just submit my art
i dont know maybe its just me but i dont see why people feel the need to draw their furries without clothes on... in provacative poses..theyre junk hangin all out... doing very sexual things. i mean sure there is always the mature content blocker, but the thumbnails still come up and then when all of that's gone there's less art to look at. its just that i hate how AMAZING artists are drawing these drawings that they'd be embarrased to show anyone they knew or loved but are fine to show other perverts over the internet. i dont know, i mean sure, im 14, and i aint no goody too shoes, believe me, im one of those big "yaoi fangirls" but i hate seeing animals degraded like this. i dont know it just seems so....wrong.
does anyone agree with me?

The profusion of adult art in the fandom is certainly one of the driving forces, but i wouldn't say its the be-all-end-all that furries have to offer. It is however the most visible demographic by a long shot. You'll certainly see a lot of fetish related materials here; to borrow from 2gryphon's wisdom this is because furs already come out of one closet, so find it a lot easier to come out of a whole lot more, including some that make anyone without exposire to this kinda stuff want to barf out their eyeballs. Its also worth noting that at least some of the stuff you see if purely comedy value, or a way for people engaged in long distance relationships to express affection indirectly.
I'd still say that FA is better than DA. Theres not so many artists, but at the same time theres less people here with 'artists disease'. FA has much more of a community feel to it, and you can generally comment on people's popular work without an absolute tirade of flaming ensuing.
You can use filters to block out the adult material if it's not to your taste.
i do see what your talking about and yeah, dA is very... yeah im not gonna go into that because it has its many problems. this does have a community feel to it, its just i wish most of the art on here wasnt so explicit. i did turn the filter on but now theres not as much art to look at now, its just kinda sad to me. thanks for explaining it all to me, cause im a noob on this site so im the one who's sitting here clueless, uploading my art from my dA XD
Go to 'control panel' and on the left side hit 'account settings' there should be a 'view mature artwork?' option listed just hit no.
A lot of people I know keep this on because of the content here haha but yes this is essentially a porn site; you are not going to find much on the clean side but I can recommend
My work can be pretty mature so I don't know if I can suggest myself lol....I draw Sci fi things instead of furry most of the time however.
There are plenty of artist out there that do some amazing non porn artwork you just have to fish around.
