Once Again, On Vore

I like vore. Case in point, see my watch list. I also apparently hate it. I was writing a non-canon short story of a few of my characters and a throw away phrase of endearment turned into this the following. (Note: Petunia is a lop-eared light brown rabbit, and Lily is a bobcat who she recently shrunk. Lily is roughly 26, and Petunia is also in her twenties or early thirties.)
...“Careful where your paw goes,” Petunia chided amusedly. The rabbit lifted Lily off of her face and sat up, cradling Lily across both of her arms. “I assume that was good for you, hmm?” Petunia teased.
“Incredible,” Lily managed to breathe.
“I think it may have been sweeter than before if you were wondering,” Petunia commented cheerfully. “You’re so cute, Lily, I could gobble you up whole.”
Lily blinked at the rabbit contentedly, “You’re beautiful and amazing. I wouldn’t mind.”
Petunia laughed a bit embarrassedly, “Ahaha, well, I did mean that figuratively, but if I shrunk you smaller, I suppose I really could swallow you whole. But then I’d be out the sweetest little kitty in the whole world, not a fair trade at all.”
Lily nuzzled her belly, “I’d stay with you. I’d always be part of you.”
“I’m afraid that’s not really what happens to food, Lily,” Petunia pointed out. “It’s a nice sort of thought, maybe, if you have to eat people, but they’re really just gone.”
Lily frowned and shifted uncomfortably in the rabbit’s arms. It seemed she’d said something insensitive. “I’m sorry,” she murmured apologetically. “I wasn’t thinking about how you might feel about that. I shouldn’t have taken it less seriously than it deserves.”
“It’s okay, Lily. You’ve never eaten any prey, but it is a serious matter. Prey aren’t interested in the lies predators told themselves when they ate us or still eat us, apparently. We’re the ones who lose our lives, so we know it’s not something cute to joke about.”
“I’m sorry,” Lily repeated miserably. “If you want to punish me for being so awful, I’ll accept whatever you decide.”
Petunia blinked at her, “I don’t think you need punished. It was a joke, and I used it figuratively first. As long as you understand why it made me uncomfortable, that’s enough.”
“I understand, Petunia,” Lily murmured. “I’m sorry.”
“Then let’s not talk about it anymore!” Petunia decided. She laid Lily across her lap. “If you want me to ‘punish’ you though, I can think of something.”...
It's just a coincidence everyone in my novels who ever considers eating someone is always portrayed as an asshole. It doesn't mean anything that they have grisly ends or that the serial killer fox becomes a 'hero' after bringing about a massacre that exterminates an entire cult of these ravenous preds. It's not like I despise fatal vore preds or something. >.>
