If anyone could point me in the direction of a good drawing tutorial for a anthropomorphic bunny. Or good basline furty one. Would be much appreciated.
First off, thank you for the fave. Second off, bunnies suck. lol. They are so complicated to make look right because of the angle of their face and then their necks need improvised solutions to make them look right. (Not to mention their faces in anything but straight on and sideways.) My favorite two artists for bunnies and rabbits have been Lizet and Blotch. I LOVE Lizets bunnies though, so I would start there. Through my own trial and error I'll tell you to add a "muzzle" for their nose and mouth. It doesn't have to be much and needs to angle pretty hard and be small enough to look right. I find this necessary to be able to show emotion in a believable way. Second is the neck. You basically have to create a new bone for them, kinda like a wedge behind where there heads are. Just something for the neck to be able to connect and make it look more like a standing creature. I have my own studies (which aren't very good) that I can post if you want, but I haven't found any good tutorials for them sadly.
My advice would be to start simple if you want to draw figures. Use shapes to form a basic idea of the pose and details you'd like. Don't be afraid to take inspiration or try and imitate art that you like. Ultimately, you can't clone what other artists create, but what you do make will eventually morph into your own unique style of drawing. That being said- Don't trace or steal either lol.
Try to practice skills on your art, not just mindlessly drawing things frequently.
Practicing bad habits doesn't make perfect, it just makes a bad habit harder to break.
So try and incorporate new methods and techniques into each new thing you do, this will help you improve greatly.
In general, when it comes to furries, I'd just focus on trying to have at least a grasp of human anatomy, then referencing pictures of real animals to replicate the desired features.
Furries are just humans with animal traits, after all, lol.
Good luck with your adventures friend!
I hope you can put the pencil to the paper in a way that satisfies your desires!
