Axolotl In Minecraft! Cave Update! All the things!~
5 years ago
General
There is a lot to be hyped about for this update, probably more than any previous update. The addition of a new tamable underwater mob, the new light sources and vegetation, the new hostile mob underground, copper ore, marble among other new stones, a built in optifine-style-zoom, lightning rods, crystal geodes, many new underground biomes differing from surface biomes, etc. The early game mass storage bag in particular was what surprised me, they're like a downgraded shulker box you can use until you get access to normal shulker boxes. I feel like the storage thing was needed for a long time with the addition of so many variants of blocks that don't stack together at once!
That being said... AXOLOTLE <3!!! I am so happy about them, they are so cute and the bucket sprite makes them even cuter! They can even be tamed and carried with you, and there is so much to love about them!! <3333
The glow squid may have won over the one I wanted (Iceologer) but they will at least make the new underground ocean biome look rather atmospheric and more fun to explore!
https://feedback.minecraft.net/ perhaps we can convince them to add in the lost mobs in future updates through use of the feedback website! They pay more attention to this than many players may think.

OP
Like all updates, it will be both. I play both Java and Bedrock as well.

But what I ask is will it available for Java first then bedrock?

OP
No clue! But I don't care which it arrives at first, long as it gets to Java too since that is what I play most with my friends.
Alright, have fun when it does come out

Seriously? The glowsquid won? The most pointless mob won over a new and interesting hostile mob?

OP
Yeah, I don't get it either, but we still got a new hostile mob that I think is even more interesting. It spawns in the new Shulk Corruption and is called "The Warden", it is like a giant fungus hulk monster with no eyes that chases sounds and has a stronger attack than an iron golem.

Yeah, one hit from the warden took the character down to three and a half hearts while they had full netherite armor on... that mob is going to be a pain unless you can get around it or actually kill it..

OP
Unless it has a ranged attack you can pillar up to a ceiling and kill it from above. That being said... this mob hits hard and MOVES FAST. It's already confirmed STRONGER THAN AN IRON GOLEM. That's saying something. But tbh I love the challenge it adds, you know it'll be coming when you see sculk patches and underground buildings. But will you be READY?

And the sculk sensors will pretty much let you know what'll get its attention too since they work on the same system of behavioral triggers, and I don't think there is going to be a ranged attack so that might be the usual way to fight it if there's enough space above you.

OP
Yeeeep, so it'll be easy to take care of if you are in a tall enough cave. But in short caves? Yeah you pretty much gotta hide and sneak.

Or maybe get a small bunker-like thing built around yourself with a small opening to attack it, you'd probably have to be quick on building it though since it might detect the blocks being placed.
Oh, man, they're making copper canon? I wonder how that'll mess with modding...
Shadowsunderer
~shadowsunderer
OP
It's conductive, is used as a redstone component, makes lightning rods and rusts over time (making it turn green like statue of liberty), and can make some tools and such.
Well, that'll make oredict easier, I imagine, just use the base copper ingots.

I still think the Fortune Ores mod or Improved Extraction mod should be implemented in vanilla, at least nether gold ore drops nuggets instead of the whole block. Or maybe make ore blocks drop a cobblestone version of the ore or something.

Woahhh didnt realize the update was THAT BIG. Im pretty happy that mojang are finally giving minecraft a lot of love and care! Ahhh excited!

OP
It's huge! I didn't even mention everything on it. Like having dirt/gravel/sand blocks at multiple levels now and new foods and archeology having a whole new crafting system that lets you make clay pots and mine for diamonds/emeralds in a completely new way.
