A very simple problem.
If you get to read a hero novel, what kind of species do you want hero and villain?

Well, Tigers are definitely attractive :3
Having the villain gain the appearance/traits of a new species like that sounds fun..!
For the hero, I'd go with Tiger
I think it's quite attractive that a weak lizard becomes a buff dragon X3
