Goodbye Chamewleon :'(
Well, yesterday I lost my cat. She didn't "die" as such, as far as I know she's still alive. But, beyond imagining, she managed to escape my THIRD FLOOR apartment.
The vet came to see her and give her a shot. Cham (short for Chamewleon) didn't like it of course and went a little crazy like she always does.
However, today (as for the past month) I left the patio door open (but kept the screen door closed) because it gets so hot in my apartment (as my AC is broken, put in maintenance request last month...nothing has been done about it). I opened up the bedroom door so she could get in (and get under the bed and sulk). Unknown to me (and the vet who was there at the time), evidently, Cham decided to climb the screen door, get to where it overlapped with the patio door, and either because of her weight or the force of her climbing, it forced the top corner of the patio door off the rails enough for her to get out...and it looks like she jumped off the patio (again THIRD FLOOR). I didn't realize she was gone until many hours later. (She usually takes several hours to stop sulking and get back to me, so I thought nothing of the silence and her absence.) After awhile, I realized it was too quiet and went looking for her. She was nowhere to be found. Saw that the patio door was slightly off the rails and realized what happened. Looking all over for her...nowhere to be found. After 19 hours or so, it's almost futile. We have lots of bushes, a huge wall of holly and ivy, woods, and there are a million places for her to go/hide. And calling out her name with a mask would make it difficult for her to her me even IF she were nearby. I will be posting pics of her around, but I don't hold out much hope for her return. :'(

*hugs back* Thanks. I hope she is...but it's possible I may never know if she never shows up.

Thank you. It's very tough living here alone without her. Even just walking into my bedroom alone reminds me of her because of the way she would rush into it before I got there...and now there is no one before or after me. The past few days I've become twitchy because I keep wanting to pet her, or just talk to her, and then realize I can't.
