He finally gets in after threatening her life a few times, and drives off forgetting his open can of Miller Light on the roof. A local police officer walks by on the sidewalk, she doesn’t even turn her head. Meanwhile Jamie Kallestad’s “Charming River Towns” plays on the portable. In the distance, the dull orange leaves of late autumn blend with the brickwork of the crumbling factories, just another day in paradise.
