You're not the only one, bear. I feel that FA should be a welcoming, non-toxic community. There are those though that just can't put their political beliefs on hold. I get enough of that on other social media platforms, here it should be a place to escape and enjoy things without worry.

I totally feel this way! The whole point is to escape from the humduggery of the real world.

It's always struck me as odd how "wanting to exist where you can see me" is often equated as "political". The desire of marginalized folks just wanting to be well and truly equal, and not constantly attacked, bullied, or under threat of their rights or lives being taken away, shouldn't be something considered "political".

I understand that it's very tiring to be hearing about this constantly, but it's even more tiring having to live a life where even marriage is a "political issue" because it's not the sex people think it ought to be.

What better place than with your friends and peers with who you share the most in common and special interests with? Very few people I would assume, make political posts or journals expecting the entire fandom to see them . If you're seeing them more than likely they're from your friends or at the very least your mutuals. Are those not the people with whom you should be discussing ideas and expanding your knowledge with? For some the fandom makes up a large portion of their social circle or even their adopted family. It's a safe place where they can discuss their feelings and ideas on the topic . Not stressing the importance of the matter or sharing ideas, along with this notion that discussing politics is taboo is one of the things that led us to the situation we find ourselves in today.

There are other sites that deal with nothing but politics. FA should not be one of them!

Totally agree with you there. When I'm in suit and someone brings up politics I don't hesitate to stop them right there. If I don't wanna see this crap all day on Facebook or wherever, I damn show don't wanna talk about it in person.

in my humble opinion, politics can be interesting but the bad thing is the people, or in this case, the furballs who take part so hardly. They can be anoying, specially when theygo fans of a person in a topic where the most succesful being is the most nasty, gruesome, corrupt, liar, hypocrit and despicable one.

I think that here in the fandom, if the fursona cannot contribute by giving a funny pic, an intelligent opinion or a good story about a theorical future of a political position, it would be better to say it out of the fursona or making a fake account in Twitter or Reddit and stop spreading hate in the fandom.

For example I made 2 funny pics turning Trump into an orange bull fursona, and criticizing the posture with my current president, in one I draw my former president as a coyote, It was relaxing; althought one of the fist ways to criticize politics is by drawing

Ideally, I agree. But this is far from ideal.

I live in a world where my city, my workplace, my apartment complex, and yes, my fandoms have been infiltrated by people who would rather see me dead than know my name because I am #NotThem. These wannabe terrorists have been emboldened by certain political entities and now feel free to act with perceived impunity (see also: the Biden Bus Incident).

So yes, snuggle, cuddle, have fun.

But we have to stand against mindless hatred when it rears its ugly heads.
