It's a point I think is important to consider, don't go after the person, don't contact them or harass them!

"Don't you think it's odd your sexualizing a very young children's cartoon show? This grosses me out. Going to unwatch."
That's fine by me, if you think so, fair enough. I forgive you for the youtube-style comment.
However since you took the time to comment at all, let me offer you my perspective on that. I find it odd on my part that me of all people get's this sort of comment on the dragon tales (or land before time) stuff, considering that large portions of the existing fan-art show all the characters in their original, underage and even animal state, doing sexual stuff.
You see, I perceive that as odd because I always make sure (and always did) to proper anthrofy them and age them up with their body proportions, making them obviously adults while also excluding fetishes most people see as "niche" to put it that way.
Another thing you might take offense in would be the very place you're at. The furry fandom consists largely of fan-art made of characters originally coming from content aimed at younger audiences, because that is where you just happen to find most appealing animal/anthro characters. The list of shows and games is way too long.
All folks who take their time to create fan-art do it because they LIKE or even LOVE the source; otherwise they wouldn't go through the effort of it. In 99.9% of the cases it comes from heart and never originates in spite or mockery.
Overall, I'm not saying you should change your opinion, but I want you to be aware that your criticism comes across as very "greenhorn-ish" and superficial in this case.

FA+

Yet it's been bothering me for years now how little some people differentiate. Like if you hate sugar, ignore all the aisles with sweets in the supermarket and then throw a tantrum at someone who puts one sugarcube in their tea, you know?
they just blindly get angry
Either way, I don't really get bothered by any of this, I just wanna draw cute dragons as adult anthros x3
In this case I got blocked first xD
Really though, sorry to hear, that's just awful and annoying :|
To be fair, to me it also seems like that.
However I think it's important to make the opposing point to these sorts of things like I wrote up there in what was supposed to be just a reply, just making clear that this is all not that much of a big deal whatsoever.
I will never understand them...
Anyway, I've seen many people like this lately, I guess it's too difficult to ignore the pic...
I would never expect to see bad manners or just plain weirdness to completely go away; but it's because of that I think pointing out a few things never hurts x3
Despite this one individual you should keep doing what you love Trias and we all will support you <3
It's just that I felt like pointing the things out that I did, because I think it's an important thing to consider :3
Going through the many comments in here I see a certain consensus I am pleased with, however I don't hear it being said all too often so I thought I just share my take on this instead of gulping it down x3
I watched because of that art XD
Agree though, I didn't think there was all too much substances; but I still wanted to share my thoughts on this since I believe I do have a point.
As I already mentioned ~ this had a very youtube-feel to it I heard more than one content creator on there pointing out as laughable.
Regardless I felt like saying what I said and don't regret it.
If you can't handle this art, which is of some of the HIGHEST quality here on FA but you ignore the MS paint sketch of some of the other fetishes, I think you need to find a new group to be a part of. You lost nothing Trias, keep pumping out the sweet art.
I mentioned right at the top how this sort of comment reminded me of youtube and I have to admit, I didn't expect this on FA, really xD
Either way, I just keep going and I'm glad you're aboard as well
As I brought up at the top, the comment smells a bit like youtube and coming to think of it... Does anyone ever watch an artist for one single piece?
I always assumed folks at least check what else an artist got in order to judge whether they're worth being added to the feed, you know?
May they, one day, will find an artist that meets their specific needs. (Fat Chance. Hahahaha!)
And nah, I wasn't bother much ~ contentwise that is just what came to my mind and I considered it worth sharing because I don't witness people saying it all too often.
I'm glad so many of the other commenters are on board with it though as I think is the sensible approach
There it's so much stuff that is infinitely worse.
It takes nothing to just not say anything and scroll past.
Everytime I witness people eyeballing my stuff I think "If I am weird to you, you ain't seen shit man".
Other than that, I wasn't offended at any point, I just thought I share my reply instead of letting it go to waste because I believe that this is something worth saying every now and then ^^
If fan art grosses him out, he can delete the FA account right away and never ever in his life watch any furry art at all. Or put a blinders like horses wear and pretend that sex and fetishes do not exist. It does! And peopel sexualize everything they may like. This includes children's TV shows. And you know why people do that? CAuse it's fun.
THough, When I completed Undertale, I was grossed out by the amount of Asriel sexualized fan art, so I can understand that guy a little bit too, but you know, I got USED to seeing that art and just shrugg my shoudlers with "meh, people like it" Maybe they sexualize Asriel cause they love the character as much as I do, who knows. So, we just need to be a little bit more tolerant and don't be a conservative, dumb, obsolete people who can only hate and ban.
Yeah, it was also and argument (if you can call it that) worth ignoring; but I had a few more people like that in stream and I honestly think we should say that fan-art never comes out of spite and only exists because the creators honestly appreciate the sources ^^
Also conservative... really? In that case we'D be talking about the very old fashioned kind of conservative and THAT would be even stranger to encounter in the furry fandom
I don't think puritanism is a very good thing to say the least... >.>
But we are closer to God when we use our intelligence to create- anyone can bad-mouth.
I think you were greatly restrained in your reply, that was most clear.
And to myself and anyone else, if you really have something you feel needed and it is anything but praise, please -I beg you- say it in private. Anyone can be a critic. It's much harder to speak privately.
But if you want to praise something or someone, do that in public. Artist (and writers like me) don't hear praise nearly enough. We live in a desert of praise, a near starvation of praise- and many die of malnutrition...
I'm extremely thankful to have encountered so many supportive people over the cause of my career ^^
Regarding criticism, there is criticism and criticism. The keyword one oughta keep in mind when commenting something that isn't just praise is "constructive". You can like a piece or dislike it, but when you point out what you perceive as flaws you should give the other party a chance to reply and formulate their thoughts instead of blocking them.
The latter action pretty much equates to throwing a tomato and then running away, in my opinion.
Well said Trias.
It's honestly stupid and wastes every content creator's time. My advice is to just ignore them, or tell them that they'll be late for their interview at the circus because they're a clown.
Don’t let ignorant comments like that bog you down. He’s free to dislike as he wishes, and that’s fine. That doesn’t mean you should doubt your work, because it’s lovely. ❤️
However I seem to have made the wrong impression with this overall, so I oughta correct it in a follow up since my point wasn't to go on about the fact that someone commented something weird and then blocked me.
I've got things much worse thrown my way that this alone wasn't worth mentioning at all, tbh xD
A different point I once made was that there is a difference between people fucking and filming themselves and artists who spent several days hunched over a drawing trying to get it right; yet both are labeled with the exact same emotion of it being "porn".
Regarding those who like depicting the DT or LBT characters in model in sexual situations... I'm gonna be honest, I am not a fan of those, but throwing these people in "c-abusers" or labeling them with the p-word is equally a slipperly slope imo.
I don't like it, so I just move along and don't say anything ~ I think my energy is spent better elsewhere.
not you but to whoever said that
What happens on the Net will get nuded up or sexualized!
