Folks may remember the dog-like Boston Dynamics robot, Spot, dancing to Uptown Funk a while back. That little bot had some excellent moves!
Well, they have MAJORLY upped their game!!
Catch their latest Youtube delivery for the end of the year - - "Do You Love Me?"
Sadly, these bots have far better moves than this wuff could ever hope to pull off.
But, outside of some pretty sick dance moves, wuff is in AWE of the balance and coordination displayed by those bipedal bots. So many miles beyond the shuffling steps they were only capable of just a few years back. What bright possibilities these could have for humanity!
Hope wuff's friends how there have a Happy New Year!

Humanity is doomed.
Wuffy just about lost it when they went up on one foot during the twist, and then had to show off and do that "Karate Kid" crane stance!
Awesome stuff!
On a funny note, I heard the Russians built a robot, but they had to shut him off because he kept trying to escape.
Happy new Year Wuff...
V.
Actually, having watched the techs punching and kicking the bots during testing, wuff wouldn't be surprised if these tried to make a break for it too!
Happy New Year, V! Hope it's a great one!
Our new robot overlords will take over the world with their slick dance moves.
when the grabber arm on the Big Dog started lip syncing with the song I lost it and burst out laughing
Vrghr also loved it when Spot did the "Sit up and Beg" move, sitting back on his rump with his front legs in that classic "cute puppy" pose. You gotta watch close for that one, it's only on screen for a flash.
And that "tip toe" move, as well as the gazelle style bounding gate - - Had no idea they could pull off so many different types of mobility in a 4-legged beast!
This needs to be a reference vid for folks trying to animate 4-legged fantasy critters who aren't limited by the steps a real live animal can learn.
Wuff found it totally awesome as well!
Maybe it's just my geek side, but I would be more impressed from a practical demonstration. Say like having two bots transfer a fully packaged pallet worth of boxes onto a multi-tiered shelf. All while not dropping or mangling any boxes, and without running into each other or the shelf.
Wuff would love to see some practical demos of these as well. But gotta admit, this definitely grabs the attention quicker. *grins*
Yah, you have a point. Wuff does rather put the "roll" in "Rock & Roll". *GRIN*
