Now California has released a FREE smart phone app to tell you. The app I completely voluntary. You must install the app. Here is how it works. If someone tests positive for Covid-91 in the next 14 days, they can allow their smart phone Bluetooth RANDOM NUMBER log will be used to notify your phone that you were exposed and include the date of exposure. Now for privacy concerns.

-No location tracking is collected
-This app has been installed over 4 million times since Dec 02, 2020 without anyone finding and issue

1) No information leaves my phone except the blue tooth number.
2) Even that is not collected somewhere else, besides someone else's phone.
I know you said they claim it, but I have knowledge of situations where government and Big Tech has lied to me.
We already know that Google can and does, track your location, whether you know it or not.
At some point, determined by the individual, trust has to be placed (or not placed) on an issue. If we never trust anyone or anything, we can do almost nothing for fear of being taken advantage of. On the other hand, trusting everyone or everything is equally as disabling. IMHO, the best is the middle path of trusting someone or something vetted by another we trust or better yet by reality; where we get the most benefits for the least risks.
I see your state does not have such an anonymous app yet. You may want to drop a note to your state health department website, CONTACT page, asking them make one available.
BTW, if you want to read about the security the California app has, it is listed in the FAQ section at the bottom of https://canotify.ca.gov/
Although, since I already got it, and am over it, I shouldn't need it for a few months.
