So I'm moving

Houses! Not like accounts or platforms or anything. I probably should have lead with that. >.>;
But yeah, I was planning to make a big post about ideas and plans for how I want to take my writing business into 2021 until a major curve ball hit us. The landlord decided he's going to be selling our apartments in the spring, which means a major rent hike to make it look 'profitable' in this crazy pandemic. That pushed my roommate a bit and we've decided if we're going to pay that much we might as well be doing it as payment for a house closer to his workplace. It's kind of insane the rent for a 2 bedroom apartment can rival a mortgage but that's how it goes.
So end of the month has gotten a bit busy gathering boxes and looking through listings. I'll be talking to a realtor tomorrow to start the house hunting process. It's been both exciting and stressful. The three of us haven't moved in a loooong time.
More to come as the situations develop. Stay safe everyone!

Best of luck on the house-hunt, and I hope you find something good!
Not sure how much more or less it cost my brother, who had been searching for houses to buy for almost 2 years, but his idea was to just build a house and would basically cut out the middle man and, given his location, it's probably going to appreciate in value, so he'll likely make some profit relative to how much he put into building (and even renovations when it was almost done, like converting the garage into a rec room)
There are some problems at first even with that accounted for, since unlike with rent, you're kind of stuck with the mortgage by comparison even if you find a better paying job elsewhere that requires you to move.
i wish you and your roommate good luck, doing it alone really sucks, believe me...
