I guess it depends on whether the artist is still proud of that work. They could've outgrown that style and not appreciate the compliment as much. But in my case I'd enjoy the attention.

Honestly, I think I'm weird. Even if I hate the piece I'm glad someone likes it.

If someone still enjoys my work, old or new, I'm glad ^^ Sometimes when an old piece is brought up, I may revisit the idea and draw it with my up-to-date skills. Who knows!

I know I'm always delighted when I get comments on my older stuff.
I don't understand why it would be bother, but that's me. Then again, I love comments on my work. I don't even mind creepy comments most of the time, especially if it is on an adult piece. The point of the art was to illicit arousal, after all.
