Do furries blush?
Essentially all of my writing is sexual, so it's not surprising that the characters sometimes blush. But a blush is mostly not visible when the face is covered with fur. So I sometimes write about the character's face 'heating up" -- the same physiological response, but not visible on the outside.
But that brings up another question: blushing presumably serves an evolutionary (social) purpose. But in furry species, the blush isn't visible so it doesn't provide that advantage. So... would furries evolve blushing as humans have? Or would it either not develop or be out-selected because it carries some metabolic cost but conveys no benefit?
Asking because I have a character blushing in the story I'm working on, "A Year at Dolcett University".

I think people usually just don't see it as issue to have furries blush cause it makes them more human and relatable.
