https://www.furaffinity.net/view/55619625/ So it is not just May 20th! It was rumored that this idea started on the Japanese furries decided to go ahead and make it viral; it would stem from a cat. You will see on Twitter that many fursuiters and furry artists are posting for #PawDay. I could say that is a fun idea to give as of course, there are 2 feet, ten toes in total on a human, and even 2 hands and 10 fingers. For that date, it can make sense that it is another good time to show the nadir as most of the FF'dom likes that body part that we use to walk. In a way, though in most of the FF'dom, we'd fully embrace footpaws, but today is a small trend going on. It would be a good thing too as it would be a day when one would like to go ahead and put a trade or commission, then once it is done, then you can post on May 20! Now, there is a Tweet that was rumored that in November, there will be ANOTHER Paw Day-it was one of my friends who is an artist that heard of that rumor! (I will not reveal who it is as the date is not confirmed yet, and that the rumor is not reality or fact.)
But really, though now we have a new day that makes sense as another #PawDay on Twitter that Japan Furs has brought up, it is clear that many will love those ankles, heels/hocks, insteps, soles and toes that support the many pounds and kilograms that support the body. Let's also appreciate the wrists, palms and fingers that make the hand as well as for a furry, they are distinctive from a human hand as well.
For the foot, the body part is SO underappreciated, really. We should appreciate our footpaws as much as possible, and certainly, one will say that EVERYDAY is Paw Day! So let's not just limit ourselves to just 2 or even three days of the year devoted to paws. Show them, especially those palms and soles where you show your pads, skin or the lighter fur there!

I had it explained to me February 9th being Paw Day in Japan is based on a Japanese pun. The date 2-9 (二九 or "Ni kyū") sounds similar to the Japanese word for paw pads (肉球 or "Nikukyū"). But yeah, everyday should be made Paw Day! Have a Paw Year.
