Sponsor a Picture --- Interest???
I've been thinking recently about finding the time to work on my own characters, either in world building picture or stand alone porn, and justifying working on them when I need to focus on comms.
So I was wondering, would there be any interest in sponsoring a picture?
The main difference between just outright commissioning me to draw my own thing, verses sponsoring, is that while I'd have a price in mind, it wouldn't have to be paid by one person. So if I needed £100 to dedicate the time to complete something, it could be paid by 10 people paying £10 if they wanted.
I'd love to know if there's a smoother way of keeping track of things, but my current thoughts are I'd post the sketch into my gallery, people could pledge some ££ if they wanted, and once I got to say... 50% I'd invoice those who've pledged, with the thought that I'd need a minimum of 50% of the commission price to justify prioritising it along side my commissions. Anything over 100% might go to alternate versions or just be considered a nice bonus, anyone pledging after I've reached 100% I'd probably give the offer of retracting until next time.
I think anyone pledging £10 (£5?) or over should get a fullsize version of it too.
This wouldn't be the only way for me to generate personal art of course, it's more that I hardly ever finish off personal pieces as I'll just jump onto the next comm. It would be nice to have some more fully lined and coloured things of my own OCs =P
Thoughts and input on if there's interest, how I could do it etc... welcome ^^

I like this idea -v- waiting until my Subscribe Star hits a certain level, just so it gives people more options as to if they want to engage with it or not P=
And also I prefer to make things more publicly available as lots of people might consider a couple of £ here or there, but don't want or can't dedicate x amount per month.
I also can't be sure I can produce non-commissioned art on a monthly basis in the way I feel a subscription model requires. This way I can just... not do it if I don't have the time, without disappointing subscribers.
Again I am super interested to see how this goes, I think its a very interesting idea. I just wonder when people are, hmm, "use" to doing this through other means how much will they be willing to do it directly? I have my fingers crossed for you that it works out! It would be a great way to fund works directly, and not worry to much about deadlines and weather people will want to see the content since they will be funding it directly.
I'll probably break it down into smaller check points, so if I never get to 50% I can at least produce something with it for the people who helped.
You have interesting characters and I'd love to see them more as well as learn more about them.
I don't think this is something I'd do very often, but I have a few old sketches laying around I'd really like to do SOMETHING with, if only I had the time =P so we'll see.
I hope this experiment pans out. I think there's many artists who could benefit mentally from this sort of support.
Unfortunately patreon just seems to become a rewards tier time sink.
This is definitely more about seeing who wants to see me work with my own OCs in place of a commission, but spread over multiple people.
SS doesn't work with PayPal, as you mentioned, which is why this would be more ideal for me.
(I also hope to commission you one day too!)
I'm considering using this as a way to get myself to do some more short stories too, I don't do enough of those P=
