Yeah, I had something similar happen with a character I sold, and it was like they just poofed, not even posting the original art. Makes me a tad confused

Could be worse, there are quite a few people that buy characters to kill them off.

I think so, I just remember a several controversy some did involve vore. I do believe it still happens, they just don't post the art publicly.

Why are people buying adoptables in the first place I really dont get it just use your head

Many people find character designs that they really like and want to keep for their own uses -- Art/writing/RPs.

Plus its a bit of a pain to find artists who are even willing to design an Oc at will for you, so sometimes Adoptables help circumvent that issue.

Why not come up with your own character?

Aside from what Butter stated... some people just aren't very good with the OC creation process. Or others just might see an interesting design they liked and want to have. I know I've done the latter with an OC I bought. Not that I can't make my own character... I got way too many OCs as is.

It just depends on the person. I have a crapload of OCs, as some others do. Some have a handful. Some just don't have any and would rather stick to what was already made for their own reasons.

As someone who has sold Ocs in the past to people who use them for RPs, Please understand that they're under some good care. I used to (and still do) have Ocs that I don't ever use -- meaning they just clog up my roster and collect metaphorical dust. That is just a creative effort going to waste. I'd rather someone else use them for their own purposes rather than hoarding Ocs with zero intentions of using them in the future.

And while I get being more into visual content, knowing they're being used at all is far better than feeling like they're just wasting space in your roster, you know?

Shame..I had some ocs myself, but I know how that feels losing something that was made with all the love you could give it.
