When it Rains...

Let's just say I have a lot of characters and ref sheets in progress tucked away on my MacBook.
The MacBook that white-screened on me.
The MacBook that hasn't been backed up since two moves (and nearly two years) ago, before I lost the cord for its external drive.
I'm at my wit's end here... I've tried everything shy of disassembling it or throwing it out of the window. For several reasons, including trying to float my ex-roomie until he gets his stimulus checks (one of which he already owes me the whole of) $600 USD), I am not prepared to try to pull data from its hard drive. I don't have the energy. I haven't even finished all of this week's schoolwork (yeah, we're trying college again, which is only possible because one of my stimulus checks went toward grabbing a cheap laptop.
In short, I may well have lost 99% of the many adoptables that I've bought, ALL of my writing, a frighteningly large chunk of my music library, the ENTIRE Adobe Suite (which I only had because I got the MacBook from a prior school venture)....because that's my fucking luck.

I'm sorry to see that you are in this mess though. It seems like tech dies when we need it the most.
