Tell us a bit about the history of Maranta. I'm really dying to know..

Maranta has a long history, but unfortunately, most of it is hidden from the common folk.
The first recorded date ever found was during the time where the Elemental Spirits were being hunted down, during the year 233 (The current year is 943)
During the Beginning Years (which is what historians called it), towns weren't really established. People mostly just lived where ever they could. The first official town was made by a group of settlers who has to escape from the Northern Lands on Desirin. The reason for why they had to escape was lost in time, BUT people feel there is a link from it to how the Mist Lands came to be.
The eastern continent, Faran, was actually a very civil and peaceful place to live. Commerce was huge and life was actually far better than Desirin. However, something happend that resulted in a giant war that literally put the entire continent into a huge war. People say only the nobles know and hide it, simply because the cause is very dark.

I'll-a go with a classic. What drew you to the fandom?

This one is a bit interesting for me.
The initial seed was planted when I became a HUGE fan of Disney's Robin Hood (I know, that seems typical) This was when I was 6-ish. What really pulled me in was when I went to DA and looked at some of the pics. I actually felt more comfortable by seeing what people drew and as well have personas of themselves. Then when I started to join in, I felt rather welcome.
