Some more Q & A's

Q: Do you listen to music while you draw? If so, what kind of music do you listen to?
A: Yes, I do listen to music while I draw as it is a great way to motivate. I listen to a different variety of music, but my most favourite genre of music is 1950s and early 60s doowop music. Some of my favourite music artists are Gorillaz, Spice Girls, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, The Beatles, and Madonna to name a few.
Q: Do you have any art tips you can offer?
A: Here are a few tips I can give:
*First of all, try to invest in a good art program that has the features you need. If you want to start somewhere, you can use GIMP as it is free to use. There are other options such as Clip Studio Paint, Paint Tool SAI, and Photoshop that are premium, but have extra features. One thing to keep in mind is that certain programs such as Photoshop have a cancellation fee, which could be a headache for some, so it's best to check what art program is right for you.
*Try to develop a style and theme for your art. For example, I like to apply a cute art style to my drawings. How I do that is that I use characteristics of a cute theme like smaller, chubbier, rounder body parts in ears, feet, hands, body, and tail. Drawing the character with a bigger head and a smaller body also works out. Here is a visual example: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/41349170/
*Try to experiment with different shapes when designing a new character. If you have a program that can move shapes around via layers or otherwise, you can adjust the body to your liking. In MS paint, there aren't many possibilities, but you can try the programs mentioned above.
*Try viewing your art in different perspectives. You can rotate the drawing and even rotate your art vertically as if you're viewing your art in a mirror. This can help you point out any crooked parts of the drawing and help you correct them.
This method can even help you draw rounder circles rather than ovals on traditional art. Just start on a quarter part of the circle or draw a semicircle, then rotate the drawing and close the circle.
*Lastly, I recommend making a checklist on building your art, which can be sorted from the simplest to the most complex. A matching colour palette, smooth shapes, simple shading, shadows, softer shading, lighting, texture, and reflections can be practiced in order. You can work your way up, including these little by little. If your art program has a smudge tool, this can help convert simple shading to softer shading.
Q: Do you take requests or commissions?
A: It depends on my time, but I do take requests since I have a bit of free time from work. I will be available for requests from May to July of this year, Keep in mind that beginning August, I will be back working at the office and requests will be closed until further notice.
For requests, there are a few things I will not include and there will be a few limitations:
*I will not draw NSFW content such as exposed private parts, gore, sexual activity, etc.
*I will not draw anything that violates the site rules.
*One to two characters and blank backgrounds only. That way it won't require a lot of time.
*If I received a lot of requests, it will take longer to finish yours, so please be polite and patient.
And here is some information regarding character appearances:
*I can draw humanoid characters, SFW only.
*If your request has an animal species that is different from what I normally draw, like your character is a canine or a fox, it might turn out a bit different than what you expect. As I don't draw canines or foxes much, I don't have much experience with this.
*Characters holding or wearing accessories is allowable.
*I am more comfortable drawing original characters rather than copyrighted characters, but sometimes there is an exception to this.
If you received a request from me, feel free to re-upload it anywhere.
After receiving the requests, please do not immediately ask me for another request. This causes an issue with the orders on my schedule and makes me more tired.
This is not guaranteed, but I also have plans to open commissions in the future. In this case, I will offer multiple characters, backgrounds, GIF animations, and enhancements such as soft shading and advanced textures.
