Long time, no see! Surgery on Wednesday
Almost 2 years without a journal. Hello, everyone!
Two big pieces of news on my end:
1) I am having fairly minor surgery on April 21st to repair two inguinal hernias. Fun times! I'm not looking forward to surgery, but I will be glad to get these fixed. I've had a very uncomfortable couple of months with a lot of restrictions on my activities and I want to be whole again.
2) I begin a new job on the 26th and—after an almost 10-year hiatus—I will be returning to the game industry (which in hindsight I never should have left). I cannot say where I am working, but I am looking forward to joining this team and I hope it opens some new doors for me going forward.
In case anyone remembers my previous journal from 2019 about buying a home, that purchase did not go through and I am still a renter. The housing market in my area is now so bonkers owing to Covid that I doubt it will be feasible to buy a home here anytime soon. My work situation might also change and compel me to move to parts unknown, so perhaps things have worked out for the best.
I hope everyone is healthy and I can't wait to see you all at a convention once events start up again.

Here's good vibes for your surgury!
as for houses...sadto say wait till the bubbl/crash/next lock down...things are headed down soon again...
Stay safe and know you're thought of.
As for Japanese, if his school offers courses, I strongly recommend that he enroll in those. Language classes are always a hoot! I started in my second year and continued in my 3rd, then did 2 years as a grad student. Best time of my life!
I'm sure your surgery will be fine..and if not you will have grounds to sue and get millions of dollars in malpractice. :D
Gaming industry you say...i wont pry but my ears are perked so to speak.... :D
Thanks for the good wishes and I shall see you very soon.
On point 2) heck yeah Batman! You are gonna knock em dead.
Really missed talking with you in person in 2020.
It's amazing how big of a void the lack of cons has left—and perhaps a bit funny because before I attended my first furry con back in 2002, I was very hesitant to attend one. But I was hooked after that first con and have attended at least 1 per year ever since, and now that we've gone over a year with no cons held at all, I'm just about in withdrawal! It's terrible not being able to see friends.
Hopefully when things get rolling again, I'll make up for lost time and do 4 or 5 cons next year. I hope I'll see you at all of them. :)
Stay in touch. :)
I’m back in the northeastern US these days, living in my hometown. I won’t be here forever, but for now, this is the best place for me to be.
