I have been wondering if I have been underestimating the interest in a particular media technique I use and I want to know if people want to see more of it. It is the technique I use for doing reference pictures such as these:

These are pencil sketches given a flat digital color in Photoshop.

I always assumed the sloppy, unrefined look was too unappealing to really do much with standalone, actual pictures. Am I wrong to think so? What all do you think?

I've always liked the way they looked! They definitely have a unique charm worth tapping into seriously. But I don't think I prefer them over your actual work in other medias. I appreciate the hard work and effort in those too much ^^

Thanks! ^.^ I think I might consider something like this more often? Especially for you with the bajillion of sketches I have laying around for you. @.@' Still... with pictures like that Sophia one being made, its hard to say no to that stuff. |3c

I can definitely see a LOT of those sketches benefiting from that reference picture media... would definitely knock those sketches out faster xD but yeah, the actual coloring media and even hybrid style are hard to resist. Sophia and the Natasha/Solerra smoosh are prime examples of that >///>

Yah, those pictures are extremely powerfully good. @.@ Those two pictures in particular really make me feel empowered to do difficult stuff traditionally!
